Pepe123 in no way is Darnell being disrespectful or harsh. It is a reality. One thing on these forums you have to know is truth.

Many of us "FIT" the profile of a scammed relationship. Doesn't mean it is but the Embassy (CO) does go by those markers.

It's hard to hear we don't want to believe it. You know as well as a 9ja man all the posts and internet all the forums all over the place with older (much older foreigner women) marrying Nigerians. They mock it and thats the Nigerians. I know you know what I say.

It makes us defensive.But really its not about what we think or know its how the embassy views our relationship. So what we do here is arm people with facts and let them try and overcome "Red flags" that may look like something else.

So don't be hurt or offended. I can speak personally that Darnell is the most helpful caring person on these boards with much knowledge. His embassy in China is no joke either. he is wise and you would do well to listen to him. It is well.

Tonality is a difficult thing to interpret in typed words.

Darnell is a stand up guy. He wasn't being harsh on you.

Hello Charles, Darnell meant no harm.

What he meant and what i also agreed with him on is that your case fits the pattern of previous internet love scammers. He doesn't and I don't also mean to say that you are a scammer.

This is a long tedious process, do you rresearch and don't get hung up on semantics.

I'm 22 years older than my Wife, the age issue was brought up by the CO. I expect that the age issue would come up during your interview so you need to prepare a credible answer. If it doesn't come up then that is excellent.

The COs leave in Nigeria, they travel around and know the culture.

1) Will a 30 year old Nigerian Man marry a 60 year old Nigerian Woman? Improbable (at least in Yoruba tribe and I'm not really sure of Igbos) but so you need to think of why you love her and why you are with her (it's your interview not hers, she already passed her interview at USCIS) so that you can convince the CO that yours is a solid relationship.

2) Just immerse yourself in reading the forum, I know this is easier said than done in Nigeria (PHCN tinzs) but this is a major life changing event and needs to be addressed as such. You're not going to be the first person to go through this so you can read other folks experience.

Ask any questions that you have as you read the forum.

There is a thread on Nairaland that is a required reading. A USA CO is doing a question and answer session on there. My advice is to not give any identifying information as she has figured out a few posters based on wha tthey said on the thread. In fact you can learn as much by just reading.

1. Have her travel for the interview and hand over her passport to the CO the minute you walk in, saying

"my wife is waiting outside if you want to speak with her."

2. Be able to answer why you love her and want to be with her without hesitation.

3. Explain why you do not want children or if adoption is an option and if it was even discussed.

4. Bring a few affidavit letters from your family and hers attesting to your genuine relationship.

If the visa gets refused and your case returned you will get a second chance to rebut the CO's

doubts and convince him/her with more evidence that you will have consistently gathered up to the interview

and beyond.

I am total staying confident and i believe with lot of frontload evidence this age gap stuff will be overcome by d grace of god....

sure - evidence is important. IMO, and others, it's the evidence submitted that overcomes the red flag of the age discrepancy.

Think of a different reason and not because "she protected you." That will not sound quite right to western

ears. Mention her attributes about her personality and character that attracted you to her, not what she can

do or has done for you. Not coaching anyone here on what to say and what not to say but with cultural differences

they will misconstrue it just to have a reason to deny. Protecting you can be easily misunderstood as mama figure

and that is what you definitely don't want to reinforce.
