As I am a German citizen applying for a K1 in Hong Kong, I needed to have my documents send to me.

The DHL Express package (including tracking) send on Nov.14th included:

- birth certificate (orginal)

- police clearances (germany and france) (original)

- all certified translations (original)

Now I just recieved the message that the package has been lost.....ultimate horror!!

My interview here is scheduled on Jan.10.2014.......

What should I do? let the embassy know?

I do have copies of everything, but will they be accepted?

Please assist as I am close to a melt down....

Thank you all so much!!!

Sorry about your situation. That sucks big time. girlwerewolf2xn.gif

Anyway, you can still proceed with your January interview and explain to the consul your situation, however, they might give you a 221g form for those original documents that you lost. I doubt the US Embassy will accept mere photocopies so I suggest you request a fresh batch and have it mailed to you ASAP. They won't issue your visa until you submit the missing paperwork.

Good luck.

I agree. You can also email the scanned copy of the DHL receipt to the embassy as a proof of having mailed the original documents.
