will my marriage affects on my visa process?

I and my gf who is PR were in relation for almost 4 years before we got married. We applied for court marriage on december 30 2012 in Kathmandu Nepal and got certificate on Jan 16, 2013. We heard that Embassy doesnt give much value to Court marriage so we did marriage according to Nepali Culture on the middle of Court marriage process, ie on January 10, 2013. I called my mother and some of my friends in our marriage. I didnot rook her home coz my father was against it. My wife filed for i-130 after she returned to US and it got approved on Nov 1st bt still no response from NVC. My question is:

# Will that affect my visa process when I will be called in interview here in Kathmandu?

# We have every proof of our relation... hmmmm emails, chat history, letters and western union papers from past.... our marriage video, lots n lots of photo together, photo with my mother and friends bt not with my other family members... do we need some other proofs?????

# does she need to submit the proof while it is in process in NVC?

you should be receiving your NVC number soon. Its hard to say exactly when but I think its about time.

Has your file been received by the NVC?.

What was the date of marriage that was filed for I 130. You should probably follow that date going forward. If it is the Nepali Culture marriage date "January 10, 2013", Then you will also need marriage certificate from Nagar Palika or CDO office.

Among other things try and the one below as it takes much time

Original Marriage Certificate

Birth Certificate

( if it is in nepali you will need to get it translated and certified. You will need to send both Nepali and English).

As for proof, what you have should be enough. Take all the documents that you have with you to the interview and also be prepared to answer as to why two marriages. (Court + Culture)

  • 2013-11-01: IV fee available and paid
  • 2013-11-01: AOS Docs received at NVC ( Based on USPS tracking )
  • 2013-11-04 IV Supporting Docs mailed ( IV payment still shows as IN PROCESS...but moneys already withdrawn from account)
  • 2013-11-06 IV Supporting Docs received ( Based on USPS tracking )
  • 2013-11-07: IV Shows as "PAID"

2013-11-07: Received/Entered both AOS and IV in the system for review.

  • 2013-11-08: DS 260 completes and submitted.

2013-12-05: Received checklist for AOS

In Part 4. Information on the Sponsor, please correct the following...

[x] Item 12. As the petitioner sponsoring your spouse or child, you must indicate whether or not you are currently on active duty in the U.S. armed services.

In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...

[x] Item 10. The current annual household income must equal the sum of items 5, 6.c., 7.c., 8.c., and 9.c.

  • 2013-12-05: Sent checklist response for AOS
  • 2013-12-07: Received "false checklist": IV Docs reviewed and accepted

2013-12-11: Entered checklist for AOS into system

2014-01-06: Case Complete per call to NVC.

2014-01-29: Interview Date assigned

2014-02-03: CEAC site updated to "In Transit"

2014-03-04: Interview Date

2014-03-04: VISA APPROVED. pickup on 2013-03-06

we only have the marriage certificate of court marriage.. not of the cultural marriage which we did in jan 10 coz we already applied for the court marriage and we got certificate on jan 17 from CDO ktm. In marriage certificate the date is of our court marriage, jan 17. There is no responce frm NVC till today whether they have received our file or not. We have every proof of our relationship. We can explain for our 2 marriage if needed bt will they believe it?
