Hello,

We first received the first notification from USCIS on December the 3rd via text and email. Then got the hardcopy of NOA1 via mail few days ago. This morning, we received (my fiance - the petitioner) this notice via text stated that:

On December 10, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance

And, when we checked online case status on USCIS website, there's further notes to above text message stated:

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

Can anybody tell me what is it exactly?

From my understanding, it is a notification to let the petitioner know that the beneficiary has already been assigned Alien Registration Number but, we will not know the detail until the petitioner received formal notification of NOA2. So, yes it is still under ‘initial review’ stage where the process now advanced and if we refer to K1 flow chart guidelines, we are still at Step 3.

Can anyone enlighten us on this? Many thanks!

Azeera

It is pretty much how it was described. It's the adjudication process where they check up on you and make sure you're not committing fraud just to get into the US. They will determine if they will request for more evidence (also known as RFE) or if you forgot to send them a document or if you accidentally skipped a question on the forms. If everything is ok, you get the Notice of Approval.

Thank you PabloGracia and iammrsregi for your replies and insights. Having online community like this is very helpful!

PabloGracia: Yes, that's what we're thinking that we are still at 'Initial review' stage. I am excited to see that our case in progressing week after week.

iammrsregi: I wish we will NEVER get RFE!!! I belive that we've put forward completed documentation for the petition. Will see! smile.png

Best, Azeera
