Yes we do have a tracking number, sent it Nov. 8th via Priority mail certified. I've been trying to stay calm with those people because I was confident that it's a "government mail" , they would take care of it. and they said to wait for 2 weeks more blah blah until 30 days has passed and nice, told me that it's already considered lost.. :(

It might not be lost. USPS stopped updating tracking for our AOS package to the lockbox but it still made it, albeit it about a week late. Only way I know it is that I got a text alert about 2 weeks after I mailed it when it should of gotten there in 2 days.

Best of luck to you.cray5ol.gif

Mine is over 30 days now so they considered it lost and all lost mails are being sent to the Atlanta office and told me to wait for at least 60 days for my packets to be returned. Nice right! I told them I am not going to wait for that "piece of sheet" in 60 days, just sent a complaint letter, and asking them to send me a letter that they've lost my mail...( that I can attach on my new package) and hopefully can use it for my surgeon to give me another Sealed Envelop of my Medical records (without asking for any fee, charges or whatever).. For now, I am trying NOT to stress myself about this lost package (though it is really stressing thinking about it) ..so I am slowly Re Doing all the paperworks and just ordered another Tax Return Transcripts online, and yes called the immigration doctor (but haven't called me back yet, hoping she'd feel sorry for me and give me the papers)..also cancelling the 3 checks..

Unbelievable USPS!

That stinks big time! It doesn't happen often, but unfortunately it happened to you. Hopefully you can get everything together quickly and send in another packet.

Good Luck!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Next time use Fedex/UPS/DHL as their tracking actually is more accurate in my experience than USPS. Hope you can get the paperwork together again and submitted ASAP!

Just an update, my civil surgeon can provide another copy of sealed medical envelop,,and charging me $50 to reproduce...really?! (We paid her $560 total for the medical last time) I don't mind paying...It's just inconsiderate.

Not sure what service you chose when shipping your package to USCIS, but most carry a minimum insurance of $100. If you file a claim with USPS for any financial losses incurred, you should be covered up to that $100. Make sure you get receipts for everything. I know it's small consolation, but it's something.

a good update! just when you're about to lose hope.. and just when we're about to send another documents.. guess what? our mails have reached the USCIS office! after almost 2 months, we've got a text, email and mails that they've already received and accepted my applications. we've got the notice of action last December 26...now I'm just gonna sit and wait for how long, who knows for the next procedure. God is great!

Congrats! Our packet took over a month to arrive at USCIS too but unlike you, we didn't do the certified mail so we had no way of tracking it. It was a daily mini heart attack for us.

Glad you got yours sorted out. What are you going to do with the cancelled checks tho? Do you have to send new checks?

just a quick update. received a notice of appointment for biometrics last April 8th and scheduled for 16th of April. good grief we asked Dad to send the notice to us because we were in Dallas for daughter's surgery. guess what? mail didn't arrive so had to call USCIS if they can send me copy of the letter because "again" considered lost in the mail.. the representative asked for some details and told me they will send another one by mail and scheduled it for the 23rd! Thank God the mail arrived safely and in time for my biometrics appointment so YES! it's done! and just got an update that "On April 23, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you."...holding my breath with this long journey. but thanks to VJ for great input.

Hey Errant,

Glad to hear things are back on track for you and hope things go smoothly from here.

Quick question - how did you know your appointment was scheduled for April 16th without receiving the letter? And was the agent on the phone able to reschedule you?

The reason I ask is that I never received my letter and the date passed. When I called all they could do is send a service request to the NYC office.

Thanks!
