Hi everybody,

I am a student adjusting my status to resident. I am really confuse with this process. But the first question that I have is regarding to the payment of 330 $ to KCC. Can you explain me how to do it? I received a letter with a form that I need to cut off to send with a postal money order! My question is that if I can do a money order from my bank or is it a special one that I need to buy in the post office? I recently move to NY, but they have my last adress, I think that I will come back there, but I dont have a specific date. I am worried because they will send me a receipt to my house, which I will need in the future, but I dont know if I will be here at that time. How long could it take to have the receipt? I called to KCC, they told me that they could send it by email adress, but I didnt understand very well. In the new institution that I am attending, they asked me my new adress, so I changed it with them. Do I need to send to KCC any notification about my current adress? what should I do in order to do this payment? My number is not current now, but I prefer to go forward. My second question is if you know how long the examinal medication is valid?. So, I just want to know if the medical examination will be accepeted by the time of my application.

Thanks, I appreciate your help.

I'm in your shoes too. I can tell you that the medical exam (I-693) valids for one year. Thats what my doctors offcie told me. I'm planing to get mine in January.

May I ask you a question please.

How did you receive a letter from KCC? Did you send them the DSP 122 with two photos?

Hi,

I received the letter by email, that's why I am doing the payment. I waited for that letter in order to pay the fee. They will give you the instructions to follow in that notification. Otherwise, even if you receive it they will suggest not to pay until a number of visa is available for you, because that money is not refundable. And, yes I sent the DSP 122 but just that, without photos. I received the notification letter with the instructions 4 months after I sent it (the DSP 122).

I want to ask you something,

Do you know how to fill the I-485? did you have to apostille your documents from you country?

Thanks!

Once you have paid your initial fee and notified that you intend to adjust status in country you wait until your lottery number is less than the number posted for your region in the visa bulletin. You then file the I485 and pay that fee. You will need all the items outlined in the instructions. http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-485instr.pdf You will need translations of all non english documents.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Hi thank you for your answer.

My number is not current now, but just for make sure, if for example my number is 211 Do I need to wait until they post 212?. And another question, I am concern about my economic situation and its effects on my Green Card. I am a F1 student but I will finish my course in several months. So which kind of question could I have in the interview regarding to finances? for example, how I am planning to sustain myself. My parents are helping me from my country but I do not know if here its matters. Is it more benefit when people have a sponsor, properties? What can you suggest me to do?. Thank you.

This will be your best source for info and answers to questions on DV winners doing AOS

Make sure you read the first post and preferably a good number of them as it's likely your questions are already answered in it.

Yes you have to wait until you are in the current group by being lower than the number, with dv lottery winners they rarely ask for a sponsor unless you are borderline educated / bringing a large family with you. Even then they only tend to ask for the I 134 which isn't legally binding ( kind of a waste )

Hi everybody,

I want to thank you because I found the article that you attached me very helpful. I want to apologize if I have asked this before to many times, but I am confuse with something. I see that my number of visa will be post sooner than I thought. My doubt is about the sending of the forms, I know that I have to be current and bellow the number that they post, but is it means that once the number is posted I need to send the forms? even we are not in that month? for example people who are current right now for may, do they have to send the forms from now?.

And I have another question, I am from Venezuela and the current situation does not allow me to apostille and legalize my documents. I have with me translations of my degree, high school diploma, birth certificate and certifications of my previous work of my country, is it ok? The original documents are in my country because I have read that they have to be apostille and legalize, and then translate them. Will I need police records?. Otherwise, in the article there is no mention about police records.

Thank you

Dear All,

Im a current student F1 living in Miami. I've been selected for DV 2014 with case number 2014SAxx2545. Despite I have read lots of information, doubts still about the first step: send forms to KCC.

Which forms do I have to Send? 122, 230 or both? For May, the numbers listed are until 1325 (So I am about 1000 far away), do I have to wait couple of months to send the forms or just send them now?

Will it undergo any risk to send them? because of my current F1 status?

I appreciate any comments, thanks in advance!
