I'm sorry Catherine, I know this time waiting must be difficult. I think Rebecca went through this too, because Rafie wanted to get everything in order before he left. All I can tell you is what I told her - be thankful your man is so responsible. I know that doesn't make the wait any less painful, but having a mature responsible adult by your side certainly will make life much easier once he arrives.

I agree with HB on her comments too and it will not be much longer you have the visa in hand and that there is such good news. Means you can make those homecoming arrangements soon. :D Hang in there it will not be much longer.

You are both right and I agree that it is a good thing for him to act responsibly towards his family. But now I am getting into a work crunch so it might not be such a good time to come in May and June . . . particularly if I go to Hong Kong on the 12th of May. OK, so it could only be for a week . . .oh, well, no need to speculate about "what-ifs" . . . insha'allah, everything will work out the way it should.

Hi welcome to the U.S...... And Congratulations on your wedding.... Nabil and I (Jackie) will be reunited on May 4th... The plane will be araving DFW aprox... 7:45 pm... We are all so exicited to have our family together soon... Our youngest girl Kayci has been writing him welcoming letter to give to him, and expresses her over whealming excitement... Our other two are older, and are thinking about six flags and getting him on the big rides... lol.. Of course having my husband is all I need to complete my life... I thank God for his blessing in my life... Nabl....

I wish I had status in this group . . . I am still waiting on Ahmed to decide his family doesn't need his help anymore. :(

As Honeyblonde said, I do know how you feel. My husband stayed 2 months after his visa was issued. He wanted to come here with everything he felt he could/would need. He wanted to cover AOS and our wedding and still have as much cash possible after because he knew it would be a while before he could work. He got lots of dental work done, new glasses, bought the clothes he would need here, got a year's worth of a prescription he uses - everything and anything. Everytime he bought it reduced the savings he had, and he wanted to work more!

However, in the end, it benefited us. I think it really helped in the adjustment that he felt things were as much in order as he could possibly make them, and also not to feel like a financial burden on me. Ahmed's reasons for staying may be different, but he is going to feel better about his new life here knowing he took care of everything he needed to there. Believe me, if he is worrying/thinking about things he could have/should have done, it would only make the adjustment period more difficult -- and oh, they have so much time to think once they are here.

This was discussed in another forum once, and it seemed that that people who took their time coming AFTER the visa always adjusted very well. Of course there are always those who jump on the plane the next day that do fine. It seems having the visa in hand and really allowing a transition period from knowing you can leave to when you do leave is helpful to them in the long run.

Don't worry about the timing and your work schedule. It all works out in the end and something always has a way of coming up anyway. :)
