Hello! As stated above our interview is on Monday the 16th in Santo Domingo, DR. I just wanted to make a list and see if you guys could recommend anything else!

If you can leave your purse somewhere safe they may let you skip the line.. they did for me.

I only came in with an refillable bottle for water, My Fiance carried in all our papers in the binder I prepared ahead of time. They let the Men go in first because they screen them faster through the scanner because they don't usually carry bags.

NOTE: Actual sent date unknown due to lawyer negligence - I delivered ALLForms and PAID Lawyer on Nov 7, 2012 - Lawyer kept saying he sent the packet and USCIS must have lost it. When in reality he failed to send the package and only a new copy to USCIS after I made a legal written demand giving him 10 days to perform or return ALL monies paid to him, due to "non-performance".

(IMO it's better to save your money for visits to or from your Fiancé and just fill it out yourself using the K-1 Guide on VJ and Senior Members... They Rock!!!)

Is there any word on when the Consulate is moving and are there any hotels in that area?

I thought we do not need the form DS-156 or DS-156K anymore…? Would any one clear this up?

I believe that all forms DS-156, DS-156K were substituted by the DS-160 that must be filled online. idea9dv.gif

The way I understood it was that you have to file the DS-160 instead of the DS - 156, DS- 156K unless your interview was scheduled before October 7th, 2013.

Ours was scheduled in early September so we have to fill out the forms instead of doing the DS-160.

You should call your embassy and verify the DS requirements.

You may need to complete a DS-160.

It would be terrible for you to get there and find out you need it.

Please keep in mind that some dates are only known after receipt of another document.
For example, the USPS Form 3811. The stamped receiving date was not know until the original Form 3811 was received on 07/13/2013 1:30 p/m CST.

Our interview is feb 26 but in packet 4 it didn't mention that the building address had changed. It still lists the current address.

Our interview is feb 26 but in packet 4 it didn't mention that the building address had changed. It still lists the current address.

The Consulate and Embassy are moving together to a new location in Santo Domingo (On Colombia Ave in the Altos de Arroyo Hondo area). The expected completion date is Feb 2014. I haven't heard anything recently to confirm this, but I'm sure it will be announced publicly soon when it will "officially" be open for business and begin servicing visa interviewees. Until then just prepare as normal.
