STILL IN ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS?!

My husband had his second interview in US consulate Mumbai, and his case status was updated on the CEAC website today, after the second interview. He submitted his passport THANK GOD ALMIGHTY! I am so happy about that. But what Iam concerned about is the fact that it says "Administrative Processing" on the CEAC website, even after he just submitted his passport.

Does anyone know why that is there?

Because it is undergoing "mandatory administrative processing" (whatever the hell that means). The government is basically doing a bunch of pointless, stupid BS to make sure your husband is not a gay flag burning Alqaeda terrorist (or something, no one can know exactly what goes on there because its for "National Security"TM) (brought to you by the same idiots who let 9/11 happen, then invaded Iraq to avenge this and killed more than 100,000 people, most of them innocent civilians, also let the Boston Marathon bombings happen and could not detect an officer in the army being converted to Alqaeda (Nidal Hassan) etc. etc. etc.).

Basically, it's going to stay there for a while, in India anywhere from 2 weeks to a few months usually. After the first two weeks you can start pinging your representative about it. Nothing to do really but wait unfortunately :/

During our K1 process, our status also showed AP. I spoke with the DOS about this at that time and they told me this was a normal processing route, not the usual "AP" that extends your waiting time similar to when there is a problem or they are undecided on issuing the visa. This could be what's going on with your case, don't panic yet! Best of Luck!
