sure can, here it is. http://www.avert.org/aofconsent.htm

under PI it says the age is 12/18 but it has a footnote 10 by it, and when you scroll down to the footnotes it says:

10. The age of sexual consent in the Philippines is 12 for all, but contacts with minors (under 18) are an offence if the minor consents to the act for money, gain or any other remuneration or as the result of an influence of any adult person.

The one thing that really caused me to think about the age gap between my husband and I is the issue of having children. I feel strongly that I don't want him to be turning 70 when his kids graduate high school. That means that the clock is ticking - softly, but it's still ticking.

Make sure you're wearing clean knickers. You never know when you'll be run over by a bus.

Yea I agree... I've told Veronica.. if we are going to have a child it needs to be in the next year or so.. But she wants to wait at least a year.. So we have time to be together..before we share it..

I just remembered that my brother is 18 years younger than his wife. They've been pretty happy for ten years, though she's in a wheel chair now and he has to make the decision soon about putting her in a home. It's so heartbreaking to watch, you know? I mean he's only 50 and doesn't need to live in an assisted living community but she has advanced MS and can barely walk now and really needs daily nursing care. I know that's an extreme situation and this could happen even when they are the same age but it is something to think of...when one is much older than the other spouse and one is still healthy and the other needs medical attention 24/7. Just breaks your heart but again, something to think of before hand and love does conquer all in the end.

Yes, this is something to think about. OTOH, I have known so many women who were widows for a decade or longer. Not fun to think about, but it's something we do have to consider. I could be quite ill at 76 when he is healthy and active at 60... or it could be the reverse. We aren't closing our eyes to this aspect of the age difference, but as long as everything else is in place, we'll both do our best to stay healthy and active, we'll save for the future and make sure insurance is in place, and we'll relax and not worry about what we cannot control or predict. We have something wonderful together. We intend to enjoy it and build our simple, beautiful life together the best we can in the present.

For me, It is just a number and age doesnt matter as long as you both enjoy each other and there is real love. But it is often and issue or questionable if the age gap is 50+ already, yes couple who have 50+ age gap will say that they love each other, but how long? How long your husband will be with you and on this earth? Do you want to be a young widow? Is it love or it is just being pity because he is old already?

Maturity is not depend on the age of a person, some are still young but already know how to handle life and have a good and firm decisions and know what they want in life. But there are some old people who are still acting as a child which are hard to dealt with.

as long as you both proud with each other.

as long as you both show to the whole world how you love, support and care each other, then there is nothing to worry about age.

Just enjoy your life together and have lots of great memories that you could share to your kids and grand childrens :)

It could be argued that a 12-year-old having sex would almost always be the result of an influence of an adult person in some form or fashion, unless he or she is having sex with another child. Even then, if someone that young is willingly consenting to sex without thought of money or other gain, and without being directly influenced by the other party, something pretty awful must have happened to that child prior to the encounter, and an adult is probably responsible for that. 12-year-olds just don't "willingly" have sex for the same reasons adults do. Anyone who would look at this statute as "permission" to have sex with a 12-year-old as long as the "requirements" are met...

And I am not, not, not suggesting anyone in this forum looks at that statute in that way! I just know there are those who will use this as an excuse, even as a way of clearing their conscience.

I think its sick. There is absolutely no way any country can justify having a consent age of 12. Theres even a few states in the USA that have one of 14. Just appalling. These are kids.

And I absolutely agree with you that a 12 year old must be someway coercied to do something like that.
