Hi,

My wife's 2nd year anniversary is approaching and we are preparing the forms for the I751. I came to question 22, "Have you resided at any other addresses since you became a permanent resident? (If 'Yes," attach a list of all addresses and dates)

Here's the deal. I have two "residences" in the US. One in the city and one in the country, different states. My wife works in the medical field. She was working on building her references and experience in the US hospital system in the summer. We had the intention for her to live in my "country" residence while she did a rotation at a nearby hospital. Because I have work responsibilities, she would need to drive herself to the hospital. She never drove in her country, so she applied for the learners permit at the DMV.

She passed the permit test and we drove a few times together. However, due to a positive surprise (job offer in the city) she never permanently moved in to the "country" residence.

At the time she applied for the permit it was looking like we would contact the USCIS and let them know of the updated residence. However, it never materialized because of her new job.

On the side, she received the "paper" permit at the DMV, but even after a phone call, not the "real" picture card.

So, do I put down that she "resided" at the "country" address? It turns out that she only spent weekends, holidays, and her vacation time up there.

I'm kind of thinking that I should put it down, but without all of this explanation. Something like, "our family has another home in XXX and we spend a great deal of time there. (Wife) was planning a temporary move to the "country" home due to work, but it never materialized.

Any advice? I might be reading into this too much, but I want to answer it right. I have a feeling the USCIS "knows" she applied for a permit there?

Thanks!

In your case you don't need to list the country address, as you continue to live in the main residence. It is the changes from one residence to a new one, even from an apartment in the same apartment complex that needs to be included and also the change of address need to be filed with USCIS. Just use your main address and you should be fine.
