The best or most innovative technology is not likely to make it into anyones hands without a great IT project manager. They bring order to project chaos, and are able to get all stakeholders both tech and non-tech to play nicely together in the sandbox. Its no small feat.

...

The good news for these masters of diplomacy and organization is that a starting IT project manager salary is expected to increase six percent in 2014, ranging from $88,500 $131,500.

McDonald's employees will probably get 40%. Maybe more. But they ARE important. I doubt any of them would have time to post on VJ while at work. Imagine if the "french fry guy" took 20 minutes to post on VJ when he was supposed to be working.

I agree project managers are great. I inadvertently left my car in neutral in the driveway last year. It rolled over me and I was pinned underneath. Fortunately our neighbor is an IT project manager. He came running out and lifted the car off of me using only one arm. As I crawled out from underneath the car, he asked me how long it had been since I changed the oil. I told him I wasn't really sure, So he proceeded to drain and change the oil with his free hand. When he was almost done, I asked him if he was sure it was OK to put the old oil filter back on like that. He just looked at me calmly and said "don't worry, I know what I'm doing".

Truly amazing people!!

You should probaby make it a point to always live next door to an intelligent person.

This is America. We spend more money on reality TV than education. What are the chances of having someone intelligent living next door?

Anyway I don't go around interviewing my potential neighbors before I buy a house. Too many unstable gun toting butthead loonies out there to be knocking on unknown peoples doors without a reason. Just buy an expensive house and hope it's not the one with the well to do drug dealer next door.

If this guy is not afraid of guns and keeps one in his house, you should probably have him on speed dial. He is sure to get there faster than the cops when you need a gun

I don't have a TV. I spend more than $40,000 on college tuition for two people each year...it would be LOTS more but Sergey has a full ride and the others get partial scholarships/grants. I keep intelligent people in my own house. I have my own guns and don't need to call someone for that either.

Of course Ukrainian kids speak English better than American kids and can write three languages in cursive when they get here. But you knew that, right?

I don;t interview my neighbors. For what? I make sure my car is in "Park"
