Day 4 here since we've been "assigned to an officer".

don't get upset if you end up waiting a month or two. Assigned to an officer may mean a certain officer is assigned a certain section of a huge filing room. After I was assigned to an officer per my Senator's inquiry, It took 4 months for my approval.... and the security checks came 3 months after it was assigned. A friend of mine works in DC with Visa Fraud. She explained to me just yesterday how they search tons of databases for a "HIT" They look at everything. Even I was shocked. And they are not even close to interested in rushing. If they get a tiny "hit" then they do another more in depth search

Did you try to email service center directly? if not i would advice you to do so asap. CBO and C_lov got reply and at least i think it works for few.

Most have received their decision a few days after the "assigned to officer" language which means that I am probably gonna be in this mess for a long time to come since tomorrow is gonna be a week already. The ironic part is that our 129f from years ago was approved in 3 months ...

In the meantine, I hope many of us still waiting will get their approvals this week.

Dont worry c_love its gonna be over soon. best wishes. btw my i130 from my father was approved in just 20 days 1.5 years ago. but even then my i130 from my spouse took more than 9 months to get approved.

so i strogly believe if you had some business with uscis in past finished or unfinished, they gonna look into your fresh petition with greater detail that can delay the process.

I think lovemytico is probably right, but we should all stay hopeful, how cool would it be if we saw a wave of approvals next week? It is odd how we have one good week then no approvals for the rest of the month. It is almost like they have a pile of older petitions which they pick a few from every so often while they push through the new petitions.

I mentioned you that please write Nebraska and then scopsscata, did you? i believe writing service center direct is better than congress man. Even then here is the email template (copied from some old thread, cant give credit as now not able to find it). Please change according to your situation.

I am writing this to inquire about the status of my I130 petition #LINXXXXXX filled for my spouse dated Dec x, 2013. I have not heard anything from you after filling the petition.

I would like to ask whey it is taking so much time? When calling the phone numbers we are provided for assistance during this process we get NO understanding and certainly very inconsistent answers, if any.

USCIS states that spouses of US Citizens do not need to wait in line for a visa to become available and that family unity is a priority. But i feel we are not being treated as law abiding tax paying citizens.

Please let me know why i am not getting approval of my petition and if my case is on processing hold then what are the reasons behind it?

I would highly appreciate a quick and informative response.

Yes absolutely. Congressman inquiry just returned generic security checks answer while emailing both NSC and scopsscata told us something specific ....although I don't know which one is true!

But one should ring all the bells so to speak.
