Hello guys, after I emailed SCOPSSCATA I received a reply from Nebraska SC informing me that our petition is "assigned to an officer" and should we not hear anything in 30 days, to contact them again. This is day 2.

That's good news hope they keep their word. They should have approved it the minute it was assigned to an officer being that they only had it for almost 9 months now. dahhhhh you would think that they had the petition for 9 months and that was on their mind!! NOT. They just move on to the next petition some even 4 months after our petition and approve them just to meet their quota.

We are still waiting too guys and I am trying not to come on here as frequently as I am getting myself worked up.

This past week has seen some movement so I am remaining hopeful for us all!

California_luv, we received a similar notification and like you I am skeptical, but on the bright side at least security checks are over and done with because that is the worst part. DandF, CBO, California_luv and anyone else still waiting I'm hopeful that they stick to their word and within a month we can all whizz through NVC together.

I have a question, is it possible to request a change of embassy once the I-130 has been approved, but before you even have a case number from NVC. I'm a British national that was living overseas when the petition was originally filed. However I am now back home in London and will go through the London Embassy. Do I have to wait till they assign me a case number then request for that to be changed to a London case number or can I avoid that?

that is true at least you know your out of security check. Do you know exactly when you were put on security check or how long you were on security check?

How long did it take for them to write you back? I sent them an email on September 13th and still havent heard back.

Wife has been in contact with tier 2 several times and even talked to the ombudsman's office but still the same BS replies about "additional review".....

They can take 4 to 10 days. We got reply in 5 days.

Give them atleast 10 days, thats their official timing. we got reply in 5 days BTW.

It is a good news indeed when they say they have assigned a supervisor for your case. Now actually some one is gonna go and watch your file. Its not like service request or tier 2 who just check status and tell you that THEY CANT DO ANYTHING YOU CANT DO ANYTHING WE CANT DO ANYTHING.

Stay positive, NOA2 is just coming

I wrote on Sept 11 and NSC replied on Sept 15. I was excited to see they replied back but quickly realized that I should not get my hopes up. Yes, we're supposedly out of security checks, if we were ever put in said "security checks" ... Anyways, this is day 3

did you get an answer that your background check is complete and now is assigned to an officer? or different ?

After NOA2 gets approved how long it will take to have status change from approved to mailed to NVC?

If you were at NSC it takes about a week for the status to change, the best would be to call nvc two weeks after your approval to find out if they have receive it.
