BTW its 9 months for me and no reply. Congress man said they can not do anything once case is in Security Check. The Secretary of Congress Man also included very nice words that people have to wait for decades in these kind of situations, have patience . . .

I reached out to my senator's office this week. Has anyone tried that for help with your pending cases? How long did it take for your senator to contact uscis? And how long did it take uscis to respond?

Small update:

My wife called USCIS and spoke to a tier 2 (for the third time) yesterday, she said she spoke to a very nice guy.

Anyway, he could confirm (like the three others) that we were delayed due to the background check, however, he said something interesting;

that most likely the delay was on Norway's end, and not the US, and that its Norway that is taking its sweet ### time to confirm my identity. He also said that this has happened with a few countries, but he could not disclose which countries.

Anyway, next step for me will be to figure out what institution here in Norway is in charge of giving this information to the USCIS and tell them to get their heads out of their a**es and get a move on!

That's a very informative update, even i was thinking on these lines, but as said by USCIS at this stage only petitioner's background checks are done i was hoping this not to be done with beneficiary, but USCIS is king of jungle they can do what ever they want to...

Now i have to figure it out how in Pakistan they handle USCIS security check request and who handle them, damn, its not that easy ...

They could also confirm that they finished the background check on my wife (petitioner). Its so weird they would do background check right now when after all we have to send in all the police certificate etc at NVC that will confirm our records...
