sennabrigante, how did u apply for expedite I-130?? I have been trying to contact us consulate n us embassy here in UAE, but they r just telling me I-130 petition goes through uscis. Please tell me how did u applied for expedite??

My husband just called the USCIS, gave our receipt number and when he spoke with an operator he requested for the expedite...

The US consulate in your country won't have any involvement with your petition until NVC sends them your packet and NVC will only receive your packet after USCIS approves and sends it to them. Go to the USCIS website to get the number your should call. Hope this helps.

I'm so happy to hear that he is not to badly injured this is one of my biggest fears with being away from my husband - that something like that would happen and i might never see him again,

This is why Im so thankful that he is returning to Australia next Tuesday to wait with me until we can go back together. life is to short to be apart if we dont absolutely need to be.

@Tandag1025, Yes I am thinking the same thing, I checked my bank account yesterday and saw that they did deposit the check that I had sent. So I am hoping that I will get NOA1 by Jan 11th. :) /fingerscrossed.

@razspaz13. Glad to hear that he is alright and nothing serious has happened. Like kay&jeff mentioned this may as well be one of the biggest fear/anxiety factor for myself as well and hoping that nothing happens to her, while we are apart and waiting for our file to move forward and get to completion.

Stuff like this makes me thankful that my husband is here in Canada with me while we wait for the paperwork to go through. I know not everyone is so lucky, although we did have the paperwork separation when he was coming here, but it wasn't nearly as long as this seems to be.

I am always paranoid with my husband's driving. Good thing he lives in a small town with about 5 stoplights total lol.

He's equally paranoid because I'm a commuter in the urban jungles of Manila, extremely clumsy and absent minded and very pregnant haha

I tried looking up my case status with the receipt number that was sent to me via sms and it says my case could not be found at this time. Has anyone else experienced this?

you and me both... I tried to check my case status but I did not find anything too. I am waiting for upcoming week so that I can call them if I don't see the status update. secret7vf.gif I hope this makes you feel a little better.

you didn't make your timeline so I don't know when you've sent your forms, but it takes few days before you can see your case in the system. it is even written on your email to wait till you get a hard copy with checking it ;) at least it took few days before I could check mine.

btw. where are you ? Nebraska?

I hope that too. Nevertheless, we need to be patient.

Unfortunately, most likely the answer is "forever." Some quote the whole process from filing to visa will be about 2 years now.
