Can some one please answer me. my i130 was approved on 22july . i just wonder how would i know if my case is been shifted to nvc? becaz till now i did not get any email .how long it takes to shift the case to nvc? i know abt case number which takes 1 month.but im confused abt shifting of my case to nvc

uscis sends the file directly, you do nothing. you will get notice case arrives at nvc, then wait patiently for a case number and iin. which will take close to 6 weeks. in the meantime prep for the aos and iv packages.

Got this email from our lawyer today:

Hi

We called USCIS to follow up on the processing time for the I-130 that starts with the LIN receipt number. We spoke with agent Catherine #G683096. She checked the system and the I-130 is now outside the processing time, thus we placed a service request. She said that if we do not receive a response from the Nebraska Office within the next 15 days, we should call USCIS again to follow up on our request.

2 - If you do not receive a response from the USCIS within the next 15/20/25/30/60/120 days repeat step 1

Remain in this loop until you get your case update email automatically

This is the reply that I got for my inquiry....any idea how long it takes:?? I will be completing 7 months on 26th...THIS IS DAMN FRUSTRATING

I got the similar response and still waiting, looks like who ever getting this takes more than 9 months.

You are right. Right now any background check or additional review can take up to 3 more months easily

So an update...I randomly checked the status online and it now says "Post Decision Activity" and the following message...

On July 25, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

I did not receive any text or email regarding the approval.

For the folks who got the approval, did you see a similar message on the USCIS website? I guess they just mailed my approval letter today....I am still confused as to, why I got the email earlier in the afternoon saying that it requires a security check and now it says approved. I still don't believe it until I get a letter.

I was atthe border 5 months ago inside the office where they take all this people that tried to crossed illegally (not my case), so anyways the point is they run background checks on them, it takes around 8 hors to fill out all the papers, so during my time inside there were around 12 officers "working", about 40 people detained the mayority of them were waiting for over 2 days, the officers were playing, joking, eating, making fun of people in english, I am a march filer but I am following this thread and praying for u guys, makes me so upset just to think that at the uscis must be like at that office. I know this is something serious, a process that takes time but honestly close to a year? Anyways I hope all of you get approved soon! Gonna keep praying

Hello,,, how many of you are waiting for NOA2..my friend is doing a spouse visa and got her NOA1 on december 23rd and got an RFE like 2 weeks ago...she lost hope.
