Congratulations to all the ones that already were approved. I am still waiting for my NOA2. My I- 130 still remains in Vermont while My 129F K3 was transferred in February from Vermont to Texas and It will be 5 months for me next week since I first filed. I hope the NOA2 comes soon!

Wait, what? I don't understand. How are some of you guys submitting an I-130 AND I-129f? Are we allowed to submit both? Is the I-129f looking faster?

Should I file an I-129f as well?

Hello everyone,

I'm new here. I have filed I-130 in Dec 2013(PD: Dec 13 2013) and filed I-129F on Apr 25 2014. My case was slightly updated when they received my I-129F(On April 30, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.)and no words since then. The process takes so much longer than I have imagined...I hope everyone here hears good news soon.

sam we didn't do an 129 and our I-130 was just approved a day or two under the 5 month mark

seems there is no rhyme or reason to why some approved in 6 weeks and others 6 months

cheers hope you get your approval very soon!! maybe with the us headed to warmer weather and only memorial public holiday in may things will move faster

Hi there, you can register on USCIS website, then you'll be able to enter your receipt number that should keep you informed about with your petition by email. You don't have to register however, just keep going to the website and check your case status "manually" as often as you'd like.

Many folks are approved without being RFE'd and that's my wish for all of us Dec files ;)

5 months and 4 days since NOA1. Things seemed to have slowed down so much. October approvals came in thick and fast, yet there seems to be few approvals for November. At this rate I feel like most of us at best can hope for an approval by June.

We have been married for almost 8 years with three kids together, relocating is so much harder to plan with kids (that are school aged) when you have all this uncertainty hanging over you!!!!!

Anyone planning to file a service request at some point?

Well, you don't loose anything by filing the I-129f as well since it is free, but it is your call. Looking at some of the filers here I decided to file mine almost immediately after I filed my I-130 and got my NOA1 back in Dec 2013. I am just looking for the fastest way to get my wife and daughter here and if the I-129F gets processed faster and goes through the process before the I-130 then I am happy with it. We are okay if my wife and daughter wait for their green cards here in the States instead of waiting in Peru. I rather have them here instead of me flying back and forth to see them often... It is hard to be away specially on those very important moments (birthdays, etc) so I make a point to travel often enough to see them, but it is hard to say the least and I am sure everyone can relate to that. Just keep the faith that all will be good at the end.

Sam89,

1. Here is the link I used from USCIS directly to file mine.... It tells you step by step how to file the petition and what to expect if the I-130 reaches NVC before the I-129F or viceversa.

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/types/family/spouse-citizen.html

2. Here is the link to the I-129 Form aplication and instructions... Read it carefully, I am sure if you already file your I-130, you should be familiar with this process. Just remember there is no fee for this form if the spouse is married to a US Citizen.

http://www.uscis.gov/i-129f

3. Also look at this link in the visa journey for step by step guide to file K3 visa for foreign spouse and asembly of the documents to be mailed to USCIS.

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k3guide

I am not an expert, but I hope these all help :-)
