A quick question , can i send documents to NVC without Police report. Because police report take about 2 weeks :(

faisal i'd chose to wait the extra two weeks if i were you.

Got our Case Complete on 3.12, priority date on 12.27.'13. Gonna wait another 4-6 months just for medical&interview, how ######-up is this?!

Why such a long wait?

Hello to my vj family,

It has been a long time since i came on here, I was thinking I would come back to update everyone. Me and the kids went to visit my husband in the US several months back. We decided to get a lawyer, and he recommended we file for an adjustment of status. Well within a month of filing our i-130 was approved and everything else fell into place. Our lawyer helped our case immensely, he is awesome! So happy to have my family back together. We have a beautiful home and my husband has a great job. My immigration journey was a very difficult process, but I feel blessed to have finally reached the end point. Trying to raise three kids under 7 on my own was no fun at all. Every cloud has a silver lining, praying that you all get yours soon.

Dunno wot the heck is taking so long, welcome to China! I would've been better off going there illegally lol Preparing myself for IR-1 instead of CR-1

well you do know the process changes into to that after 2 years...and conditions are removed.

kinda makes the paperwork easier in the end....I'm trying to look on the bright side.

why is it taking so long...what's the hold up? have you been in contact with NVC and your congressman??? can you provide some background?

faisal,

you need to get onto the nvc website, here's the link, see the chart if this, then that...find what if suits your situation and then see which form is best to use. use that form, get sponsor to complete it and be sure all forms are signed and all boxes are completed.

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Step_4_Collect_Financial_Documents.html

you may also wish to post some questions in April NVC filers thread, see here

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/543004-nvc-filers-april-2015/page-17#entry7569837

this thread is helpful because people who are going through the nvc process right now are supporting each other. if you read the first page of the thread, Saylin, gives loads of info how to complete forms, how to submit them, what to include, etc. She also gives helpful info about what follows after a cc.

Best wishes, and if you need more help, just ask!

Hi all… long time no speak. I am very glad to say that my interview has been scheduled for May 29th at the London Embassy.

Hey that is great! Good luck!

We just got our CC yesterday - FINALLY! Probably 2 weeks later than we would have done because NVC FROZE PROCESSING OUR CASE WITHOUT TELLING US!!! I had emailed in December 2014 asking to change the embassy we went through in Abu Dhabi, AND mailed them a letter in January making the same request. I never got a response to my letter, I'd love to know what happened to it.

At the end of January I got a reply to my email saying in the interest of security they couldn't respond because I'd failed to include hubby's D-o-B. (That info was in the letter that was never answered.) Anyway, I replied, included d-o-b this time, and made the same request.

In the meantime, we got a checklist and moved heaven and earth to get our docs back in the queue by March 17.

March 23, I got an email from NVC saying they could only move us to a different embassy if we sent them back proof of residence. Considering it took over four months to get responses to two emails from NVC, we ultimately decided to just go through London.

The week of April 14 I noticed people with scan dates beyond 3/17 were getting their CCs. I called them and it turned out NVC had halted processing on our case until we responded to their last email!! Fair enough but how about a) telling us we had to reply and b) telling us they were halting case processing until we did? And the hold was supposed to last NINETY DAYS!!! UGGGH!

Anyway it took a total of about 3 hours of being on hold with NVC but eventually I was able to reach a supervisor who managed to remove the hold. Called to check on things on Wednesday and finally someone sent a message urging our file to be reviewed. Thursday I woke up to our CC!!!!!

Now fingers crossed my husband gets an early June interview - we are scheduled to fly together to the US at the end of June, and I am in a wedding. They've already told us they're booked up for May. We can deal with it no matter what but it would be great if finally one thing went smoothly and easily for us in this process!

At any rate I am happy that we are finally, FINALLY nearly there! Such a relief to have that CC finally!!
