my fiancé has interview in cairo on December 11th .....I just saw something on here about having orginal certified divorce documents.....he (beneficiary) has all his orginals.......me (petitioner) is divorced......was I suppose to send him orginals of my divorce decree........he has a photo copy of it and we sent photo copy to uscis......and they only gave us 7 day notice for interview!!!! has any one in cairo heard of such little notice for interview.......7 days people....7 since he got the call from dhl saying he has a letter......how are we suppose to get everything together in 7 days when we are on opposite sides of the planet....

not to mention its been 5 months since we sent in his medical results...more like 6 month since he had the exam.....but it takes 10 days to get medical results back!! they only gave of us 7!! ........I sure hope they don't expect of us to have new one at the interview

If you check the Egypt portal here on VJ and scroll down a bit, it says:

"An "ORIGINAL" Divorce Degree with appropriate certification and translation should be taken to the interview(This applies to the Divorced Petitioner and Divorced Beneficiary). You will be asked for a certified copy at the Interview.

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Egypt&cty=Cairo

Beneficiary should still go to the interview regardless. If they really want a certified copy, they will most likely give you a 221g and wait for you to send it to them.

Hello! congrats for the interview ... for your questions .. i think if you sent him the original div certificate will not be in egypt before 3 days ... so .. he can get the copy of it with him and if he divorced he will need to take his original one ... for the medical and police if they are expired or have few days to be expired then they will ask him to renew them after the interview and send them back to the embassy .. everything will be ok . Good luck

Sending best wishes on your interview today. It will be alright. It's up to the CO's discretion if they need the original copies or not. All our documents were copies and they never asked for any of the originals of anything. If they do ask for it then they'll give you a paper at the interview saying a decision is pending based on getting the original documents and you'll have time to get them to him afterwards. If they request another medical you'll get the same pending a decision paper and a notice of what additional paperwork they require such as a new medical is requested. No big deal because you'll have time with a delayed decision pending.
