I filled for my 1-485 back in 2012 with my wife who is a american citizen. I have received my work permit and my social security card. However, my permanent resident card has not yet arrived. We have called USCIS many times and put up service requests on the case as its WAY overdue. The first service requet they told us to wait 60 days and call back. 60 days went by and we herd nothing. Called again and placed another service request over the phone. They sent me a letter saying they are waiting on results from a security check.

How much longer do i need to wait for a security check to clear? My work permit is suppose to expire now in January. What do i need to do to renew it? Will i loose everything?

If someone could explain the process of security check that would be great. I did a quick google search and found that people sometimes will be stuck in this loop-hole. Also something about contacting your local congressmen about it or calling the FBI?

Anyone got a number for the FBI that i can call in Connecticut about these security checks or what i need to do? Seems like they just tossed my case to the side and forgot about it.

Any information would really help!

thank you so much.

Make a Info Pass appointment to sit down with USCIS to get the current info and status of the case.

Forget the politicians and the FBI.

i read somewhere that people at uscis will not disclose any information regarding the security check. I would need to go all the way to Hartford CT which is 2 hours from where i live. Do you think they will be able to provide me with more information regarding the security check?

If you read that and want to believe its true then it must be. If you really want to know ask USCIS. Will they tell you about the security check process? What do you want to know about what they are doing?

If you are asking about A P I think you will find there is no one that can tell you anything really.
