I will be able to apply for Naturalization on March 10, 2014. But my situation got complicated after I accepted a new job offer in New York. I am having trouble on deciding at what date my NY residency began. So here is the timeline:

- Lived in PA since February 2009 (Was on L-1 visa for a few months).

- Received job offer on mid October 2013.

- Left my job in PA on November 6th 2013, closed my house and didn't leave anything back there. Of course my driver's license from PA is still with me.

- Went back to my home country to visit family on November 7th 2013.

- Came back to USA from JFK airport on December 7th 2013.

- Will be living in a temporary housing provided by the company for a month and this housing is in New York.

- I am starting to work in New York on December 9th 2013.

Now when did my residency in NY began? On December 7th? I will be filing my tax return based on that date also.Just showing my tax return, flight date, temporary housing bill, offer letter will be enough to prove that my residency started on December 7th? I want to avoid applying for a driver's license using my temporary housing address to avoid having it get lost and change the address on it again, but if that's the best way to establish my residency I will do that as well.

Thanks.

I looked at the requirements for the out of state driver's license transfer. They are asking 2 documents to prove the address which I don't have with my current temporary housing. Oh well hopefully they won't make an issue out of it.
