Mistakes are made all around! the fact is we have to deal with the now. The only way to deal with this is with Saddam type tactics,A.K.A over whelming force. Lets just get in there and get it done.

Ah but therein lies the problem. This kind of force is not an acceptable solution to this political problem not to most Americans and not to most nations.

Its kind of ironic this thing about what other people want, does anyone here go to your neighbor and ask them what life changing decisions you should make? of course not. We all know what needs to be done in Iraq, but it seems that its far to ugly. The fact is, the enemy has no concious and we need to fight them with the same fervor. We all are spoon fed everynight with three minutes of B.S. on the news, if you dont see it your naive as he!!. Dont like WAR? join the club! I'm so glad that I am not in denial and screaming PLEASE just make it go away! Tha fact is that its not goin away until WE end it!

Assuming you meant "conscience" and not "conscious" I'm going to ask you how you know that and why on Earth you would think that "the enemy" (whoever that is) is unlike all other humans. Is The Enemy a superrace of humans without feeling and without motivation other than "kill kill kill"? That's an interesting idea.

So we should have no standards of our own? To hell with human rights and the dignity and reputation of the United States! It's a contest to see who can fight dirtier! Let's get the torture machines fired up, eh Marc?

You've made this argument numerous times, and it frightens me to think that people who think like that are American voters. (yikes!)

The problem with finding a solution is that the US is not willing to give up its interests in the region. They want a US friendly leadership at the healm of Iraq. They want to keep a hand in the mix with Iran, Syria and the rest of the Middle East and use Iraw as a lauchpad for this policy. They want to satisfy special interests who can gain economically. They want to push forward a new ideology and refuse to accept its flaws. Until Ideology and money are out of the mix, we will not see a good solution in Iraq.

Our military is in a tough position. They are trying to do their job, but the problem is the job they were trained for is nto the job that needs to be done in Iraq. There is a braindrain happening in Iraq. Refugees are fleeing into neighboring states. There is not enough clean water and electricity. The streets are dangerous. We are loosing the middle class iraqi moderates who were the essential key in making this work.

No one person can offer the solution to this mess. The US needs to look to experts and skilled personell both American and from across the globe.

The vast majority of the US army is active in two major war zones. There's talk of throwing more troops into Iraq and extending the stay for those already there - but where those extra soldiers are going to come from has not been made clear. Even with the army stretched to breaking point - people still want to wade into Iran and Syria as well. There's a limit to "overwhelming force"...

The war is a mess, 35,000-50,000 more troops won't do anything. I believe whoever it was who said that 500,000 troops are needed to get Iraq under control. Iraq is a mess and will probably be a mess for years and years.

It is funny how people on the left are apparently all for peace yet get so angry and hateful towards others. Especially someone with a different opinion. What makes it even funnier is how they strongly support the first amendment. Well at least the misrepresentation of the first amendment..

The other day I heard how speakers with opposing views at various colleges have to be escorted by body guards on campus. That is a disgrace and a shame on the left wing SS supporters who promote this sort of behavior and violence. Actually it sounds quite totalitarian to me.

This liberal movement which started in the 60's has totally kidnapped and changed the face of the democrat party into a confirm to our liberal views or else watch out type of attitude..

I have noticed too that most of the people here that condemn the war are originally from other countries. I myself have been called a war monger, actually that couldnt be further from the truth! its just that I realize that there are people out there that only know one thing and that is violence and death therefore must be dealt with in this manner.
