But not for Margaret Thatcher. Who, together with Ronald Reagan, brought down the USSR, ended the threat of intercontinental thermonuclear war, freed 200 million people in what are now 15 separate nations to enjoy free speech, their own religion and pursue their own lives, saved Trillions of $$$ in military spending (the "peace dividend") not to mention what she accomplished for her own country...

Obama is racist...and sexist.

This is the biggest thing that has ever happened.

So you're saying we should have sent in a seal team to rescue Mandela? There was plenty of international pressure to free Mandela, both private and governmental. It was the reason he was freed.

Name me a British PM who didn't make a hash of something under their stewardship? :huh:

When you look at the bigger picture, Margaret Thatcher was the PM the UK needed in 1979. In 1983 and 1987, she was just the better choice. :thumbs:

She was many things, not least intelligent but I do not agree that she made universally good choices for the UK or that her legacy is stella. She didn't and it isn't. Falklands spring to mind, what a pointless waste that was.
