Canpacket 3 be picked up from the consultate?

I am here with my wife in Joburg and we were wondering if there is a way to get packet 3 from the consulate directly instead of waiting for it in the mail? We might try that since we are about 30 min from the Joburg consulate.

Obviously, every consulate is different. But you should certainly inquire if this would be an option for you. It might just work!

From what I've seen, it depends on the consulate. Give them a call and good luck!

Problem is finding someone to answer a basic question at this consulate. They charge you to even talk to someone and once you get to talk to someone they know very little and provide even less information. We are going to be in that area tomorrow so we might just swing by and find out.

As everybody said, each consulate is different. I both picked up and submitted the package 3 in person. They were kind enough to give me a call and ask for my preferences. But again, each consulate is different. In my case it might have smth to do with me being the only K3 case at that point and my country being as small as 5 million people.

but it worked out great for me.

If I recall correctly I picked up packet 3 from the consulate in person. ( I had K-1 visa though, and I may be mistaken about what packet 3 is! ) I was in contact with the case worker and arranged it with him. ( everything arranged via email ).

The service I got from the consulate was stellar in general, just the long wait to get inside and long wait once inside that was a bit tough!
