Trying to get interview while I'm there!

Hi all,

I just wanted to get some opinions, suggestions, and/ or thoughts on this idea: My husband and I filed for I-130 DCF in July of '06. We were told it could take 6-12 months. We have already turned in packet 3 and are now waiting on packet 4 (with the interview date).

I have a vacation (I'm a teacher) for the winter break. I will be in Albania (again - this is my third time) from Dec.24- Jan.5. I want to go to the embassy while I'm there and see if I can get them to interview my husband while I am there.

I want to be with my husband for his interview. I want to be with him when he comes to the states for the first time in his life. BUT I don't get another break from school until April. plus it's VERY expensive to fly there (especially with last minute notice).

Does anybody think the embassy might interview him while I'm there???

Thanks!

A. Voci

It's worth a try, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Give them a call, however. It really can't hurt to ask :)

I think your chances are between slim and none for this to happen. Procedures are strict and rarely are exceptions made.

From the Embassy website:

Only applicants with scheduled appointments will be admitted to the Consular Section.

YMMV
