Crossing Border after I-129f Approved?

Hi everyone. I have a question. My fiancee who lives in Georgia filed the I-129f petition in late September and today we checked the status online and it has been approved. It says:

"On December 2, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice."

Since I live in Vancouver close to the border, sometimes I like to go across the border into Washington state just for the day to go shopping. I was planning on going this weekend and I'm wondering if that will be OK now that the I-129f has been approved - will it start any countdown, or put up any red flags or anything? Neither of us have received any notice or anything in the mail yet. Thanks!

It sounds like your I-129f petition has been approved, but you have not yet been approved and granted a K1 visa. Your one-time entry and countdown do not matter until you've gone through the medical and interview at the embassy and they approve your K1 and you have the visa in hand. Once you DO have the K1 in your passport, it will be for one-time entry into the US and you will then have 90 days to get married.

If you are going for shopping it will be okay. If you are going to see your fiancé, you might want to bring your approved NOA2 to show that you have intent to immigrate later on under the proper procedure. It still depends on the office whether to let you enter or not. Not an expert, just what I think you can do

I, too, live in Vancouver often drive down south for a weekend trip. I've done this at least a couple of times since our petition was approved with no problems whatsoever. Just make sure you bring a copy of your package and your NOA2, as well as a good amount of proof of ties and you should be good to go.
