Interview Prep Questions

We will be heading toward our (K-1) interview in less than two weeks, and I have a couple questions. If you could help, that would be great.

1. Is the fee at the interview payable in USD or are Egyptian pounds the desirable currency? My fiancé paid Egyptian pounds when applying for a visitor visa a year and a half ago, so I just wanted extra confirmation.

2. His medical exam was taken the first week in August 2013. Will he need to have another one, and if so, is it suggested we get the medical before our interview on the 18th?

3. Is an updated Police Report also going to be required? Our first was also provided the first week in August 2013.

4. Are there any other documents that might need an update?

Hello! congratulations for your interview, for your questions:

1- he can pay Egyptian Pounds but it's much easy for him to pay 240 $ and pay 75 EGP for the DHL . to be in save side because the $ is not fixed some days up and down .

2 & 3 - it's better to update his medical and police before he go there .. be cause if it will expire soon he may put you In Administrative processing until you sent them updates one ASAP. so to escape the AP get updated one with you. " Anglo American give it to me with 3 days " .

4- his original Certificates birth - military - divorced if any + deviance between you and him ( photos , call logs , chat , etc.. )

at the end ... i wish you good luck in-sha-allah ... best wishes

Thanks for the advice! I think I was reading your Embassy review last night when I saw they do indeed ask for the original military certificate. That was the one document where we had a copy, but he didn't know off hand where his original was. Good thing it is him that has to find the original as he is much more organized than I am! I'm heading to Cairo on the 22nd, and I had a few things I was going to bring for the interview--thinking it would be early 2014. Thankfully they aren't essential items. We'll get the items completed you've mentioned and prepare for the interview. Thanks again!

Thanks for the advice! I think I was reading your Embassy review last night when I saw they do indeed ask for the original military certificate. That was the one document where we had a copy, but he didn't know off hand where his original was. Good thing it is him that has to find the original as he is much more organized than I am! I'm heading to Cairo on the 22nd, and I had a few things I was going to bring for the interview--thinking it would be early 2014. Thankfully they aren't essential items. We'll get the items completed you've mentioned and prepare for the interview. Thanks again!

Do not update the medical unless they ask. Not sure why you would give this advice. The medical is good for at least 6 months, if you had it done in august it isn't expired Edited December 9, 2013 by mimolicious

because i had a friend with k1 his medical was about to expire after 2 months from his interview .. he got his visa limited to the date of the medical expiration .. so short time to finish his stuff in egypt etc ... so when your medical is updated at lest you have about 6 months to leave the county .

On the letter my fiancé received, it listed all the prices for different visas. A family based application was $230. I'm not sure if that is your visa type or not, but I imagine if you haven't paid a fee, there will be a required payment.

That wasn't the question. There is no need to update the medical unless they don't plan to leave until after it's expired
