How did you book it? I went on the csc site and it says no available appointments? I clicked on immigrant visa - ready to schedule. Is this correct?

It's correct, there just isn't any available interviews. I've heard that they usually put out more dates every couple of weeks, but I don't know for sure. I've been checking daily to see if any random appointments have appeared.

I keep my fingers crossed you guys get something booked soon. It's unbelievable how fast all of their appointments must have filled up. Apparently all of Canada wants to leave..lol

I can't believe they don't have Toronto doing these types of visas too. Makes no sense to me.

Why, prob because they don't have piles of staff at each consulate. So yes there are multiple consulates in Canada, but doesn't mean they have a big consular section that handles visas

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

If you think it's annoying you have to go to Montreal, try being from Alberta or Saskachewan and doing a CR1 visa and having to go to Montreal. Heck if you live in Vancouver, and are married, you have to fly to Montreal!

Similarly, in all of the USA, only the NY and the LA Canadian consulates deal with visa and immigration...

That's prolly why it takes 22 months to go in the opposite way. It's faster to pay the fee at the border and move up together. Which Canada allows you to do :)
