I had my appointment at the embassy in Paris yesterday!

It went well, the consul lady said there should be no problem with my case and that my passport will be mailed to me within 10 business days. It's a relief but I will be happy only when I hold the visa in my hands!

There was another girl there for a K1 who had filed in January.

I checked this morning the Ceac.state.gov site and it says my visa application has No Status, and the case status for the other is still Ready and no change since June 16th. Is it normal? How long until my status is updated?

Still praying for those waiting (too long) to finally have good news

K1 in 2013, AOS in 2014, ROC in 2017

ROC Timelime:

2017-05-12: ROC packet sent to Vermont Service Center

2017-05-16: Case status updated to Received

2017-05-26:  Received NOA letter and status extended for 1 year

2017-06-16: Received Biometrics appointment letter and case number

2017-06-26: Biometrics appointment at ASC in Atlanta

Well guys I am really ready to explode.. The consulate acted to my congressman (I saw the email) as if there was no reason for them to be contacted because they had already issued and mailed the visa "last week".. The status changed from AP to Ready on Friday and stayed that way until today.. However, I just checked and now it's back to AP!!! The weird thing is the case creation date changed to July 21 whereas before it said April 23.

They lied to my congressman's office and said the visa was issued and mailed?? It has not arrived yet. I am ready to cry. My grandmother passed away yesterday and tomorrow is her funeral. The email from the goddamn consulate:

"Thank you for your correspondence of July 17, 2014, regarding the fiancé visa application of ____________, which is of interest to your constituent, _____________.

Mr. ___________ was interviewed by a Consular Officer on June 10, 2014. During the interview, the consular officer noticed that Mr. __________ I-129F form which had been submitted to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service was incomplete. Once we received the completed form, we contacted the Service to confirm authority to proceed with the visa application. We received approval to proceed and issued the visa last week.

Mr. _______ fiancé visa was issued on July 18, 2014 and forwarded to his address in Brazil.

I hope this information is useful to you and your constituent.

Sincerely,

Acting Consular Section Chief"

Unfortunately, the Rio embassy really sucks for communication.. There's not even a phone # you can call, it's all through email and they just give you the standard BS response. My fiance paid the courier to deliver the documents when approved but there's no tracking number or anything. I am just hoping my congressman's aide will have something to tell me tomorrow.

I am so sorry that this is happening to you. I bet there is just some confusion going on at the consulate. They sent me a weird notification that led me to believe we were denied until i called my state senator back and they straightened things out. I got an approval notice soon after.

I know it is hard to do in your situation, but try to stay strong and not let all of this drive you crazy. If they told your congressman that it was on its way then I am almost 100% sure that it is on its way. I can't imagine them lying to a member of congress over something like this.

Thanks, I really hope you are right.. I think they made it sound like they mailed it last week to discredit me somehow and make them look like they were not totally incompetent, but I think it was probably mailed Monday or Tuesday if it's been mailed at all.

A wild ride, but we did it!!! (whew!) My fiancée arrived yesterday at JFK - such a happy reunion after waiting over a year to be together!!! Because of many flight cancellations due to strong storms in the northeast, there was a big back-up of visa entrants at Customs and Border Patrol - a 3 hour wait! Luckily an agent tracked her down for me after 2 hours, and let me know what was happening. Then our flight home was cancelled, we got as far as Boston in the wee hours, then spent the night in the baggage claim, waiting for the 6am bus north - another 2 hours travel. Then a taxi to go pick up my car at the airport, and finally the drive home! 50 hours in transit from Russia, my poor baby, but she is such a trooper! A struggle from the beginning of this process right till the end - we are exhausted, but very happy, and perhaps stronger for it all.

As to the embassy not giving a tracking number, that's not right! Moscow Embassy sent the visa Pony Express, though we lost 4 days because of the 4th of July holiday. But there definitely was a tracking number, as you guys should have. As to the change of status, we had our CEAC status go back and forth, so it doesn't necessarily mean anything. I'm sure you are close to receiving the visa.

From the Rio consulate today:

"The case was forwarded for issuance as informed. However, the Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs is currently experiencing technical problems with our passport/visa system. This issue is worldwide and is not specific to any particular country, citizenship document, or visa category. We apologize to applicants who are experiencing delays or are unable to obtain a passport, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, or visa at this time. We are working urgently to correct the problem and expect our system to be fully operational again soon."

Wow! I am sorry you guys had such a hardship getting home(( Diana gets here next week, really excited! She flies in through Houston and then to Dallas.. Shouldnt be any problems I would think. JFK is way more crowded than International Airport of Houston. Congratulations Zhivago!!

That is right! I read this in another thread and in the news. There is some computer computer issue with Visa issuance or printing. All the US embassies around the world are having this problem.

The silver lining is that his visa was actually approved and will be with him shortly! You do not have to call and pester anyone.. Just more waiting(((

Hang in there!!!! Sending you good vibes)
