We are not in a rush....since i have two kids from previous marriage (10 and 8), we are waiting for school to finish in here first, and kids need to see their dad before leaving.....and then we can move. (....but of course I am still totally obsessed with checking on our status!!! lol)

I wanted to ask, does anyone know the procedure about K2 visa, what papers kids need, what are the fees, do they also need medical..etc.

Can1221 I was sure you would have heard something by now. #######!!!! we have the same timeline and they haven't responded to you this is ridiculous. Looks like USCIS has no rhyme or reason as to how they process our petitions. I really hope you hear something before month's end. Good luck

I'm in almost the same situation - mine are 11 and 8.

They will also need to do the medical exam, and you will also need to pay for their fee - three visa fees, not cheap. As for papers, you will need their birth certificates, and either a letter of authorization of immigration from their father, or your custody papers, if you have sole custody.

So everything should be done 3 times...wow really not cheap at all.

Birth certificates we already sent, my previous marriage certificate (because of the name change) and divorce from the court....so the only thing for them I will need letter from their dad?

The birth certificates for them were not needed for the petition, so I would get new ones made (or take the originals, if you sent in copies). If you don't have sole custody, then yes, you will need a letter from their dad. Do note that because of their ages, they won't need the police certificate that you will need. And they may or may not need to be present at the interview - that's an Embassy-specific requirement. Look for reviews for your embassy to see what other members have said.

Great topic!, my hubby to be wants to bring his 4 year old maybe follow him after a year once he's more settled, we (I) added him to 129F application, but, didn't know what other info needed and/or what next steps or documents needed?,

as with this process its confusing, I beginning to think, designed to make you go crazy or give up..

Where can I look this information up so we can be better prepared?

Oh, and the wait continues...lol

I don't know as much about that situation, but do a search on Join To Follow. I do know the K2 visas, which is what the children get, is valid for one year, as opposed to the six months that the K1 is valid for.
