What is a PRF?

I am visiting Diana in 3 weeks, is this something I can have her sign while there and mail back or is this just dependent on your Senator?

Privacy release form, its some kind of an authorization so they can access your file. If you ask for senators help, they might give the same form, you can either hand carry it since you'll gonna visit her soon, or mail it to her. The prf is send to the petitioner, the petitioner will be the one to send it to the beneficiary.

I also talked to one I knew who asked help but with a congressman, they we're given a different kind of form, where the petitioner can authorize, the beneficiary signature is not needed. They got approved after two days, when they sent back the authorization letter to the congressman office. And they asked help after 3months and a half of waiting for NOA2.

I therefore concluded, that you really can asked help, even at early waiting period.

Hi Foxxy and all others waiting,

Just passed the 5 month mark yesterday. Unbelievable that some recent ones got their NOA2 in one month, when so many are still waiting. I know it is very stressful and frustrating, especially since we have not seen each other for almost 6 months, but we are strong. Luckily my soulmate is very good-natured, we laugh a lot, and visiting once or twice daily on Skype is a big help, plus e-mails, going over the details of our wedding plans, sharing movies, etc.. We both try to remain positive and trust in God, while doing everything we can do.

I checked with my Representative's office already 2 weeks ago, and they had me e-mail them a signed Privacy Release, but did not ask for my fiancée to sign one.I called again today to let them know it's now been 5 months, and am waiting to hear back. I think the advice of keeping busy, working, having some specific activities or goals during the long wait is a good one, since a "watched pot" can seemingly take forever to boil. Hang in there, get help from one's congressman or senator when needed, and keep the faith!

Okay, I heard back from my Congressional office! They are really great, and seem to have a lot of experience with visasand know how things are done. They were told that our case is on its way to an officer now, which was really nice to hear. (whew) Cases are handled in groups, not individually, which is evidently why we usually see groups of approvals every week. Some people work at home, and do not go into the office every day, but must go in to physically pick up new files, so this might account for some of the delay. I was told I'd probably hear something in the next 2 weeks, and that the Congressional office would keep an eye on our file. Hope this gives a bit of encouragement to all those still waiting. Things are moving, and we should start to see more approvals. Best wishes to everyone! : )

I'm an October filer and on March 22nd I reach my 5 month mark. I contact my congressman about 10 days ago and call today again and

said they still haven't heard anything yet. How long it took you to hear anything after you spoke to your congressman initially? this waiting

is getting a bit ridiculous!

Thanks for the update! Glad to know that you will hear something soon. After reading your post I decided to contact my representatives office today as well, and you are right- they are very nice and seem quite knowledgeable about the petition process. She emailed me the PRF and immediately completed and emailed it back. She then called me back to say the she filed an inquiry with them, and would let me know as soon as she heard from them. I wish I knew I could have done this sooner.

Sorry to hear that, kada, I know it's hard. I've luckily been able to get answers from my Congressional office the same day as to the progress of our case, but of course still have to wait. I would check in every week. Hang in there!

Sure, and thanks! Good that you contacted your office. At least you may get some idea of where you are at, but I don't think much can be done to move a case along before the 5 month average that is given by USCIS for TSC. Good luck!

No problem. It's the office of your own U.S. Congressman in whatever state you live.

If you are in Texas, I used this link and put in my zip code to get my district representative.
