Hi every one. NOA2 today after 4 months and 21 days! We sent USCIS an email 10 days ago and called them 2 days ago. My fiancee asked to talk to a manager or someone with more information/authority. They put us through to a supervisor and she told that our petition might take another 30 to 35 days, but today morning the approval notice came through email. Really happy and looking forward for the next steps to go smooth and quick for me and every one else. We would suggest that everyone waiting for NOA2 should try calling or sending emails to TSC. We wish everyone best of luck with the whole process and hope that the ones still waiting will get their approvals very soon!

Congratulations! :)

More approvals TSC!!!

EARLY FILERS SHOULD BE THE PRIORITY!!!

I'm so happy, guys! Without any notice, an RFE appeared inthe mail today, sent on 3/18! I had expected an RFE because some documents signed by my fiance did not have original signatures, but they were in blue ink and copied in color so they must not have noticed. However, I got an RFE for page 5 of the I-129F where I thought it didn't apply to me but didn't answer "no" to the questions about previous criminal convictions. Overnighting it and will be posting it tonight! I am at least relieved that they did not lose our papers or forget about us, and things seem to be moving again

I am happy for you. Getting an RFE isn't bad at all, they just wanted some documents and the sooner you mail it back to them, Approval will be the next! :)

I wish to have the same fate. Rather than wait with no update :(

Hey guys, a question about something I read on the Moscow Embassy reviews page, in case anyone knows the answer. Somehow, there was a review on the first page from someone who listed "Singapore" as their interview location, but said that there was a problem about their Russian Police Certificate being over 6 months old (7 months for them I think), and that they were told they needed a newer police certificate (for 1 month, really?), which made them lose a lot of time.

Our understanding had been that the police certificate was good for one year. My fiancée got hers in November after we filed the petition, not thinking it would "expire" in less than a year, and I'd hoped we'd be booking a flight to Moscow by now for the interview. Does anybody know a solid answer about this, or are all embassies different? I guess I can e-mail Moscow, but wanted to check here first. Thanks, and continued congratulations to all those moving forward in the process!

Hi guys,

I know the answer in detail - for any embassy - your documents have to be less than 6 months old - not only for the interview but on the day of the arrival in the USA (at the POE). It is important how long the paper is valid for the US authorities not how long it is valid in the country where it was issued.

I got this kind warning from the embassy when asking them about all translations and certifications of all these documents. I was so enthusiastic about the petition being filed I started collecting my papers ... Months ago. Still no change. And my first post ever. I hope it is helpful.

Start the process of obtaining a fresh Police Certificate tomorrow first thing.

Hi again. One more question about this topic. I just went to the Visa Journey info page for Moscow:

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Russia&cty=Moscow

and saw this under List of Documents for Fiancée Interview:

"Police certificates in all names as well as all dates of birth ever used. Police certificate must contain references to each place (subject to the jurisdictionof the Russian Federation) in which the applicant lives or has lived for more than six months since attaining the age of 16. This includes localities where applicants have lived during university studies. If the applicant was on military service, he/she should bring the certificate from the local draft board. If an applicant has lived abroad for more than one year, a police certificate must also be submitted from the country in which he/she lived. Police certificate validity is one year since the date of issuance."

It says validity is one year. Perhaps I will e-mail Moscow to verify, since it would certainly save my fiancée another hassle...

I wouldn't think it's an Embassy-specific thing but more of a country-specific thing. It's the organization issuing the Certificate that determines for how long it is valid, and it should say so in the Certificate itself.

The K1 journey:                                                                                                                             The AOS journey:

02/14/2014 - Case shipped to Embassy, where it waited for over a year at my request                                 11/07/2015 - AOS approved (EAD and AP had already been approved) - there was no interview

05/21/2015 - Interview - Approved

Thanks, Sparkle Pony. Yes, the Russian certificate itself says one year, as did the info on this site for the Moscow Embassy, so maybe that's it. Anyway, I think I will e-mail Moscow to be sure, since at least some people at other embassies seem to have run into the 6-month requirement, and one had a Russian certificate.

I would think that an Embassy that received a Police Certificate from a different country would be less flexible regarding the expiration date on it, so I think that sort of makes sense. But yes, emailing them sounds like a good idea.
