Ugh, was Charlize Theron's dress the most atrocious thing you ever saw or what? It looked like she had a pillow on her left shoulder.

 I was soooooooo disappointed in her-I was also a little suprised that she didn't have her hot Irishman with her.

She usually looks pretty good. I wated to rip that bow off her shoulder

I agree...Fire your stylist Charlize!!! Reese Witherspoon was the most beautiful I thought.

(I can't believe that about Ruaidhrí Conroy... I worked with him too... many many moons ago...that's a disgrace they did that to him!)

He was in 'when the sky falls' with Gavin................I am glad the director made that comment with millions of people are watching-fair play to him!!!

I didn't know that Ruaidhri' was in "Into the West", I love that film.

I (L) "Into the West"...one of my favourite movies of all time!!

Watched it a few weeks ago for the first time(I saw it when Gav was here, but missed some parts). I cried my eyes out!

Such a good movie  I told Gavin I have a whole new respect for "travellers".

Gavin is sending over "Accelerator" for me-I can't wait to show my family they will love it.

Poor Keira Knightley, seated next to that dirty old man Jack Nicholson all night. I can only imagine the small talk.

She did look pretty, but with two caveats: One, I did not care for her dress; and two, she is looking very very skinny. Here, Keira, have some ice cream.

i thought keira, reese, jessica alba, and nicole kidman looked lovely.

charlize looked pretty horrible, and helena bonham carter... (shudders)...

i was kinda disappointed by jon stewart. i (L) 'the daily show' but he just seemed so... unfunny last night. maybe he should have had stephen colbert & lewis black with him. now THAT would have been a show! :D

i love how fake all the reporters on the red carpet are. they gush over the most hideous dresses!

i have not been very Oscar enthused since lord of the rings... :luv:

What I remember about Oscar news 2006:

  • [*]Disparate-plot (more like "no cohesive plot") films ("Crash", "Syriana") favoured, the one good victory being Reese Witherspoon (as June Carter Cash) for Best Actress.

(certainly it is a stretch for the actor/actress playing a couple to be noticeably SHORTHER than those played. Reese is 3" shorter than June, and her costar Joaquin Phoenix is a good 6" shorter than Johnny)

I'm glad Rachel Weisz won, she's hot stuff.

I liked her very much in The Constant Gardener.

And Phillip Seymour Hoffman... I will always remember him for that Budweiser commercial!

Has anyone seen "Capote"? I think he did an excellent job in that.

Have only seen a few clips, but they were brilliant clips. Would very much like to see this.
