Hey guys! Now cozy at home with hubby-to-be in NJ and looking forward to our first Christmas together. Thanks to all the nice and lovely VJ-ers here, you know who you all are! heart.gif I know a K-1's journey doesn't end at the precious moment of visa-on-hand and at POE, so I am yet to brace myself for this new journey.

I had my POE in Hawaii 2 weeks ago <was there for 10 days. Fell in love with HI and how I wished the east coast have that Pacific warmth>. I will be applying for my SSN pretty soon. I know I-94 is now electronic and I was able to get mine from here: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html

My question is: is it ok that only the first name is indicated on my first name? Considering I have 2 names on my passport.

Now, that's a little confusing. Let me rephrase that: For example, my name is MARIA CLARA, is it considered an error that they have only indicated MARIA as my first name on my I-94? I'm worried that it's not consistent with my visa, which says MARIA CLARA. And also, I'm scared to run into problems when the time comes I have to apply for my AOS.

If it is erroneous, who can I contact to have it corrected? It says from the I-94 retrieval FAQ, that I can contact the "Deferred Inspection office closest to my location". Does anybody know where I can get that information?

Thanks in advance, guys! smile.png

Hey guys, I do have SSN already when I came as a student but it has a condition written " valid for work only with DHS authorization". I am applying for driver's license this coming saturday can I use it without changing the condition? I am here for 3 weeks already just forgot my SSN card until today when I check requirements to apply for the license. Thanks much

Called the Deferred inspection site in Newark, NJ, and they said, I'd have to call between 8-11am here. I seriously hope I won't need to go to the Newark airport for the change of name request.

Has anybody from the Phils forum encountered this? I know it was not electronic before, so ... oh well...

UPDATE: Called the CBP - Newark airport <Which is the closest Deferred Inspection site to me>, and name change request accommodated and done in less than 2 mins. Retrieved my I-94 the second I ended the call and voila! ...system is updated, just like that. Awesome! Oooohh and did I say they're so efficient here?

Case closed. dancin5hr.gif

That was our experience as well at the CBP Seattle Deferred Inspection Station in July 2012. My wife and stepson had paper I-94s when they went through their POE, the CBP officer didn't notice that the boy had merely copied his mother's name and information onto his I-94. It wasn't until the next day, that I was examining their passports and documents that I noticed the son's I-94 error. We had to take a quick drive down to the CBP office at Seattle's Boeing Field, not SeaTac (their POE), and get it fixed in a couple of minutes. Very pleasant experience, al things considered.

Glad it worked out for you.

Thanks A&B! It was such a relief! And it really helps to know who to contact to. I just don't want to ask my fiance to drive me down to the airport just for that. Luckily, phonecall request works here! smile.png
