I will be getting hired by a very well paying job almost 3 times the 125% poverty guidelines next week. However I will commence that job until January.... My petition expires Feb 28, I am hoping I can get an interview by then if not I will have to extend the date a little more. I was a student before I got this job and my plans were to always use my sister as a co-sponsor. I have the 3yrs tax returns from her... Can I NOW be the sponsor for my fiance under current income even if I has no previous jobs? I will def get an employment letter but we get paid on a monthly basis so I do not want to wait 3 months to get 3 pay check stubs!! Back to my question, can I do this? present my current income, and employment letter? proof of being a student at the university to clarify no previous jobs...and still have my sister as backup?

Here is what happen to me, that time when i sponsor my husband on a fiance visa i wasnt making any good income just doing temp work here and there than i finally was able to get a good job and was above poverty guidline but i only worked there for 3 month with no good work history for 3 years and i showed them paystubs, emplyment letter, explanation letter that i am now making enuff income for me and my fiance( now husband) but they didnt take it but i also had my sister as backup and they took my sisters docs as co-sponsors. So it means that they were not satisfy with my income yet, So i suggest that you use your sister as backup, but have your fiance explain to them your situation and see if they are willing to take your income but if not than you have your sisters docs as co-sponsor.. Good luck

Hi there, sorry to use this topic but the subject is similar.

My fiancée has a job now that he has worked at for about three months now. The job pays way above the poverty guideline. Thing is, he did not have a job before that as he was a student. This current job is his first job. Do you guys think that he is able to sponsor me alone or do we need a co sponsor?

I think it will also be good to show proof of being a student...like a transcript or something.
