Hi,

I currently make an annual salary of 33k plus commissions. My last pay stub shows that I have made 54k YTD. I have printed out 6 months of stubs and I also have a recent employment letter. Should I put the 33k on part 6 question 5 under annual income, or should I put the 54k? My employment letter states that I make an annual salary of 33k plus commisions. I'm confused on what I should put. Also, may I just use my stubs as opposed to the employment letter to show the 54k?

Does anyone know the answer to this?

Thanks

See what others think but if you are at 54K YTD (and the year is nearly over) I would put that as your annual income. I would see this as particularly safe if your GI in prior years was similar (assuming same type of job). That is, after all, your annual income. For my annual income I stated base plus what I estimated as my incentive comp for the year, in line with the prior three years. Didn't have any issues. I provided tax transcripts for the prior three years I believe.

I don't remember submitting pay stubs, just an employment letter. Seems to me an employment letter is commonly expected, but check around.

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately my prior year was a little less, as I was unemployed for a few months. I think I'll be fine though. It is my income YTD. Do you know if the employment letter has to be an original copy with signature? I work for a large organization and they just emailed me a soft copy today. I have to wait for the original employment letter in the mail, but need to get this submitted ASAP because her Visa will expire soon.

Put what you would actually make in a year with your salary and commissions combined. Listing the YTD is a safe way to go, especially if the year began in Jan. Your most recent pay stub proves that is the amount you make.
