Email the consulate, or call Department of state.

Consulate: http://hanoi.usembassy.gov/visa_services.html

DOS: Call 202-663-1225 and press 1,0,0 to speak with a live operator at DOS. Your wait time is anywhere from 3 to 20 minutes. Have your case number available and ask if it is in "OPEN" status or if Instruction Packet has been mailed.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

For your info, I followed the instructions here about requesting info via email. My request of Dec 13th was replied 8 days later. So do try it, but be patient - everything is SLOW.

I emailed them in mid November and to this date have not had a reply. But thankfully my wife had no problems getting answers via phone, so I'm not concerned with getting a reply anymore. Though you'd think they would have replied with at least something by now.
