Hi,

I applied for CR1 visa (Spousal Sponsorship) and my interview was in 2012. After the interview my case was placed in Administrative processing. Finally after almost a year, the AP was completed and US consulate in Montreal requested the passport. I sent the passport but after a few days I received an email from the consulate that I have to visit the US consulate again to re-take the Oath.

Does anyone know what this means? I already had my interview last year. They didn't ask me to bring any documents. Please clarify.

Thank you for your help.

They may also request you have an updated police certificate and medical FYI. I'd at the very least get the police certificate done in advance. I also agree it sounds like another interview type of deal.

If you dont mind me asking what was the reason they placed your case in admin processing? The reason I ask is because my case is also placed in admin processing but that's because they needed my birth certificate translation. Did they give you any sign of approval at your first interview?

I know this is an old post but I can't find anyone who posted about the same topic. So hopefully someone will be able to shed a light because I received the same email and I'm confused bc no documents were requested. All the email says is to come in for bio-oath at the USA consulate in Montreal at a specific time and date. Faizan89 if you get a chance to read this can you tell me what exactly you did and what happened if you did go?
