Everything cost money. Why have laws if we're not going to enforce them? Or worse to cherry pick who is held accountable for breaking them and who is not?

They're kind of like prostitution laws. To truly enforce them with the level of purity you seem to be demanding of ICE, you'd need to have a system where you (magically) determine whether cash exchanged hands prior to (or right after?) every sexual encounter anywhere in the country. In reality, those laws exist to maintain the appearance of public order. When neighbors complain about a brothel, that brothel gets busted and prostitution laws are what they use to do it. But the single mom trolling Cragslist for dollars or the stripper who gives her regulars blowjobs in the VIP room? The government leaves them alone because that's not why the law exists.

And because they're awesome.

Leave prostitutes alone, they're only trying to earn a buck.

So Obama's Uncle who has lived here illegally for 50 years, was once arrested and convicted of DUI and later disobeyed a deportation order is somehow raised to a different level than the woman in the op?

She is here illegally since 2000

She married a guy from (former) Yugoslavia - sounds like he is a GC holder?

They have 3 American born children

Just wondering what you all think...

Update on the case: Looks like someone high up made the call to ICE - her deportation has been "put on hold" for more review... She won't be going anywhere.

You are a hatedful troll that scour the net to demean ppl, things must be awful in your life

are you a shut in, or just ugly?, ugly ways, ugly ppl....no she should have taken care of her

status a long time ago, but will your driving her to the airport make the US safer? The Prez

uncle just got his GC after living here & working 50 yrs illegal with one DUI...Live & let

live, the ppl to hunt are those here to harm us or committing crimes, Ah get a life U have

a miserable personaranting33va.gif

That's why they call it "illegal" alien.. They knowingly committed a crime by entering the country in a non legal fashion.

This case is a bit different.. She immediately turned herself in when entering the country (aka: stopped at the border) and applied for asylum because she was afraid she would be sold into prostitution. Seems pretty weak to me, she was 30 at the time.. The court evidently felt the same: "Being young and pretty is not a valid reason to seek asylum." She rolled the dice and it looks like in the end she is going to get what she wants. I'm happy for the children.

I say we get rid of all laws.

I'm gonna go live in that one dude's jeep. I forget his name but he carries an AK-47 in it or something. I'll be alright.
