Our I-130/I-485 was received December 31st and I received the biometrics appointment letter on Monday of this week, however it seems like the time differs greatly between cases.

I got my email notifications on Dec 23 too, I got the letter for my biometrics around Dec 30/31. The appointment was for Jan 16.

But as someone else said, timing seems to vary greatly between cases.

Have you received your NOA1 hard copy yet? My biometrics letter came with that.

Haven't received any letter but my status got changed today online and I have the interview set for 19 Feb '14.....now getting nervous

i go to USCIS Detroit yesterday for a walk in biometrix.. the staff were so nice but they not allow me to have a walk in. I understand them since there are a lot of schedule have been cancelled because of the holidays and gosh a lot of people done their biometrix yesterday.... i guese i need to wait to my original schedule which is january 29..

And im glad i already enrolled at American Redcross for the nursing assistant program... well it will makes me busy while waiting for my biometrix and the rest of the process...

Thank you.. i will be going to a nursing program too... but nursing assistant is not a pre-requisite.. waiting list for nursing program takes a year thats why i enrolled 1st as a nursing assistant enable me to have this kind job while waiting also. Goodluck and Godbless too

We sent our AOS package with USPS express on Monday 12/02/13. It was received on Tuesday 12/03/13 (with signature, although I signed a waiver for the signature).

On Monday 12/09/13 late night I got three texts and three emails with my new tracking number. So far no mail in the mailbox but the case status on the EAD and the AP is in "Initial Review" since Dec 4 and for the AOS it says "Acceptance" and that they have received the biometrics fee on Dec 6 and mailed me a letter with further information (which hasn't arrived yet).

I hope we'll all have a smooth journey from now on. All I care about right now is my EAD since I'm sick of sitting around doing nothing But Christmas is coming up and that helps a lot!!

We sent from Phoenix, AZ. I have been out of work since November 2013 and loss of income is a big financial problem right now with 3 young boys and my husband just working its a big burden.

My biometrics is scheduled for Feb 02. I want to start working soon as I have a job pending. I am from Canada married to US citizen with 3 US born children. I noticed you got your EAD fairly quickly! What steps did you take to get it that fast! Any advice would be so appreciated.

I think you need to undergo biometrix 1st before they can process EAD.. if u really need it so bad.. try to have a walk in..

Hi RNtraveler71,

as someone mentioned before you need to have your biometrics done in order to get your EAD. You can try a walk-in and IF you already have a pending job offer you can mention that to them. Maybe if they're busy and wouldn't take you as a walk-in they would still consider it once they know that you filed (or are about to file) the expedite.

To file the expedite:

- Like I said you NEED to have a pending job offer ALREADY! If you apply for a job, you may tell them that it's a matter of 1-2 weeks for you to get the EAD if you could get a letter from them stating that they would employ you. (They could even put a dead line on the letter until when you have to have your EAD in order for them to employ you so that they don't have to commit to their offer for an unknown amount of time)

- Once you have a job offer call the service hotline and tell them you need to file a service request for an expedite

- Your reason for the expedite is "severe financial loss" since you would lose money/income if you can't accept the pending job offer that you already have. Make that clear because they're not the smartest people around (After I told the "hotline-guy" for the fourth time that I have a job offer he said "Oh you DO actually have a job offer already?".... No, I was kidding earlier... ugh...)

- The guy told me I would get a notice (in mail!) within 5 business days and they will request further proof. A day later I got an email (which is WAY better than waiting for mail )

- I had to fax in a copy of their email and the letter from my potential employer.

- One day later my status changed to Card Production but it still took another week for the card to arrive in mail.

I hope you can find a job very quickly and good luck in your further process
