How many other December filers for the Dallas office are still stuck in "Acceptance" status for their AOS? We are hoping to be updated sometime this month.

We got our appointment June 2 but since we moved we have to change it. Stuck in limbo now. They said we would know something by May 22 and nothing. I talked to tier two people today and they said no worries about the June 2 appointment. We should receive a new interview appointment soon. So we wait.

Good luck.

Card/ Document Production

On May 23, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

Located in San Antonio and filed mid October but official filing date is December 4th 2013. Got one of those 'no interview 6 month wait letters'. From estimates I expected it to take another month or 2, so I'm pleasantly surprised that I get to take a break from all this now. Ooo yey I can go to college for low cost now!

OK, yesterday I had my interview (840am) and have been stressed since - No news or updates yet.

The interview was really intense and it was done together.

Everything went well until she asked us if we consummated the wedding.

We are of islamic religion and we cannot consummate until a certain time even if the legal court marriage is done.

I told her the truth - I could have easily lied by saying yes (because this question leads to asking about scars on the body, i know the scars too) but we have just not actually consummated yet.

We showed her the engagement/court marriage photos. She told me to name everyone in the pictures (like 30 people in the pics)

The only thing we have together is a bank account, on submission of papers the balance was 25$, so she said that is too low.

Luckily i had new statement with a much larger balance.

I took screenshots for Facebook/Instagram showing 'Married'.

we gave her our Whatsap/Skype communication log for 9 months which was 1576 pages originally (cut it to 25 pages each)

She said, they will notify us by mail with a decision (infact she even mentioned about 2 year later to file ROC - i dont know if that is a requirement to mention or a note to remain positive)

Everyone, please add your details to the Google Spreadsheet - Goodluck to all

Update:

On April 5th we received an email that our interview for April 7th was canceled (Santa Ana office). In the meanwhile we had moved to Atlanta, GA and decided it would be best to change jurisdiction to GA and not have to fly back to CA. We assumed we would be put at the back of the line for GA. But mid april we received a letter that our interview was scheduled for May 13th.

Had our interview yesterday, 35mins total, went well (I assume). Office told us to wait for card in the mail and that if she needed anything she would contact. Did not say approved or denied but since she mentioned card in the mail I assumed it went well.

How long after the interview does the USCIS website update and how long approximately does it take to get the card?

Thanks!

Can u please describe more details about the interview?

Why did you assume something is not right, what additional supplemental info did u have like (bank statement, lease, etc etc)?

Sure, I can share more details about the interview.

Actually, I did assume everything went well, which is what I said in my post.

We went inside the Officer's office, swore to tell the truth, sat down. She started asking my husband some identity questions, then asked me about my identity (passport, I94, EAD, social security card). She then asked all of questions about being terrorist/prostitute/military training...

Once that part was done she asked how we met, when we got married. Then I supplied the additional information.

Here is what we had:

-2 joint savings account, 1 joint checking account

-2 joint credit cards account

-5 year lease for our previous apartment

-Deed for the house we bought together

-2 life insurances

-2 car insurances

-joint cell phone bill (family plan)

-internet + tv bill under my name

-electricity + water bill under my husbands name (same address)

-20 pictures printed on paper (2 per page) with legends of when/where they were taken dating back from 2008 when we met including wedding pictures.

-4 postcards from friends and family with our names/address

-same gym membership

She kept everything I gave her besides the postcards so be sure you have originals for you.

Hope this helps,

nice. so why u think it took 1 week to get an approval?

dont u think with the level of additional documents u had, u should have been approved on the spot?

Our lawyer told us it was normal, and that nowadays many officers are not approving cases on the spot, instead they are taking a couple extra days to review fingerprints, get supervisory approval, etc... They don't have to say anything on the spot.

She did say to "wait for card in mail".

I need some advice from VJers..
I am a student (F1).

I completed Bachelors and currently doing masters

I filed for Family based Green Card.

I did the interview last week and waiting for an approval.
I have already received the EAD (i765 - Work permit for 1 year).
As I wait for the Green Card, can I terminate my F1 status and work without an problems?
I want to rest from studying for a little while

once you apply for your AOS based on family/marriage your status changes automatically from F1 to pending AOS. Hence legally you are no longer on F1 status. Yes you can take a break from studying for as long as you may want now. But you may need to also update your university with your new status (once GC is obtained) so that you could be eligible for in-state/resident fees rather than fees paid by international students.

Hi all,

I'm really worried!!! I filed on December 30 (my priority date) and the status for I-485 is still stuck in "Testing and Interview" since Feb 05, no more update since then and no interview letter yet :(( My local office is Portland, OR and I don't think it's a very busy office. What should I do??? Btw, I adjust from F-1.

Also, how do you know if your case is transferred to local office? All of my case statuses do not mention anything about transfer.

Thanks.
