I know patience is the game plan BUT how long should I wait before I start to ask what is happening?

We have done our biometrics now 2 months since our NOA1 then nothing as you say Radio Silence.

We could really use our EAD after waiting 2 months?

Hello Somerset boy! I am NO EXPERT but unfortunately we have to be patient. The cases varies for each individual. I believe, according to the website they should process your EAD within 3 Months and after that you could call to see if anything is wrong. If you really need an EAD and has a job offer...you can always file to expedite your EAD.

I had my fingerprints done on JAn 10th + RFE and I just got my EAD approved on FEb 15th. It varies from case to case.

my case went back to "initial review" from "testing and interview" because of the correction on date of birth. We are supposed to have the interview this wednesday. We called the uscis but looks like they are closed for the holiday today so we are not sure if due to this change we are still on for the interview sad.png

Hey Stanos86! Do you have a letter with an interview appt? or you just saw a date on the website? If you have a letter with an interview notice; I would go anyways. They can always proceed with the interview and fix your date of birth thing there or reschedule your interview. I just think, it doesn't hurt to go there if you have a letter. However, they should call you if the interview is canceled but you should never count on that.

Good Luck!

Strange timing today. I called up NSCS today to try and expedite my AP. As I was on phone, she asked me to double- check my number and then said an RFE was sent out this morning. She couldn't (or wouldn't) tell me what it was for. I assumed it was something AOS related. Then, 10 minutes after the phonecall I got the text messages and emails informing me of change of status of my application for my EAD and AP, no mention of AOS, which still says Acceptance, as it has done for the past 2 months.

Also haven't seen much about just RFE for AP/EAD and not AOS. Is this experience familiar to anyone?

I didn't have a similar experience but we got an RFE and they never updated the website. So, when we got the RFE it was a shock because it was for something we already had sent. After they got our RFE response, it took about a little over 2 weeks for them to approve our EAD. In my case, it stated that they would just proceed with my AOS application after I sent the response. They gave us 87 days to respond or our case would be considered abandoned.

This RFE may delay your process a little bit but just send the RFE response as soon as you can. Best of luck!

Did anybody in here get a interview waiver letter or interview appointment yet? It might be a little too early for an appointment letter but my AOS has been 'untouched' since December 3, 2013 and still says 'Acceptance'.

And we filed end of November really.

Just curious if others already heard anything or at least saw a change in the status.

Hey van1234essa! There are a few members from this group that already had interview and had their interview notice. The cases very a lot. I just got an update on my EAD this saturday. We filled on Dec 9th and it has been slow on our end. Our lawyer said that it can take up to 7 months to us. Seems like our local office is very slow. I'll not be surprised at all if I am the last person to get an interview from this group smile.png. Best of Luck!

I just don't get it. We sent our AOS off in the end of November 2013 and heard absolutely nothing while somebody on here that filed in January 2014 has an interview in march! How long are we supposed to wait before calling?

I just think about a case where the girl got a denial letter out of the blue cuz apparently she never received a RFE that uscis sent to her and therefore she never replied to any RFE, causing uscis to consider her case abandoned while she was patiently waiting on them! But she didn't even know anything about a RFE. No emails, no status update, nothing.. I don't want that to happen to me :/

Hey there! To those who filed for an expedite for EAD/AP, how fast do you hear a response from USCIS after you have faxed the proof of evidence? Do you have to write long cover letters to explain yourself or is the proof good enough?

We had the interview yesterday.

The appointment was at 9.30 we got there around 8.45. We went through the security and they took out appointment letter and made us wait in a waiting area. We were then called in around 9.15 by a middle aged male IO. He asked for our IDs and made us take the oath and he stated asking certain basic question like name, address, when did we first meet, my current place of employment, her place of employment, when did we first start dating and some question from I485. He then asked us if we wanted to give him any other additional joint documents, on which my wife stated dumping (literally laughing.gif ) all our documents like refinancing car loans for both our cars, previous car loan together, car insurance papers, health insurance, costco membership, gym membership, joint jeweler’s line of credit, bank accounts, leases for the two places we lived together, this year joint tax return, 401k beneficiary documents, etc. He also asked us for our joint phone bill but unfortunately Verizon doesn't print both our name's on our statements just hers' (she is the primary account holder) and he asked us for some life insurance stuff which my wife had misplaced somewhere in the home so she had ordered a copy which didn't get to us on time. We didn't have only those two thing and we gave him an explanation for why we didn't get those. He then started telling me about that IF and only IF I was granted GC it would be a conditional one and I need to apply for removal of conditions later and he still needed to run some background checks and he will send an RFE if he still needs anything else from us. So now back to the waiting game. ClockWatch2.gifwhistling.gif

Hi Stanos86! I'm glad you were able to do your interview after all. Waiting sucks but I'm sure you'll be approved.

P.S: I can't believe that after all the docs you brought he still asked for the joint phone bill + life insurance.

Thanks BeMerry, I hope that is the case.

I am actually used to the waiting game now. I think all my previous AOS(F1 to F1-OPT then to F1-OPT-EXTN then to H1B with RFE along side my employers employment based immigration paper work) has helped me to become immune to it.

Although the national processing center had updated the correct DOB he had not received it from them so he made notes about that. From his perspective I understand that he need to run the background checks again with the corrected DOB as the checks are pulled from FBI, Interpol and my home country but sending an RFE after the interview is done is one of the most annoying things I have ever heard headbonk.gif
