Got my Biometrics letter today! Jan 16th, hoping to do a walk-in sooner though.

I've noticed the letter says it's only for my I-485 and I-765, is this correct? Should the I-131 be on there too?

Successful biometrics walk-in, two weeks before appointment.

Got there at 8:20 and had to wait around a bit while they did the 8 and 9 o'clock appointments. In total was there just over an hour.

Hi everyone! Happy New Year!

I just got my appointment letter but would like to do a walk-in much earlier as well. Do we have to do an InfoPass appointment like what USCIS's website says? If we don't, do you then tell the officers that you are there for early biometrics?

No InfoPass required.

I'm sure it varies from center, but when I got to the reception I was asked what time my appointment was, I said "It's not today." and was told to just go wait in another bit until they were quiet enough to fit me in. After that it wasn't even mentioned that I was two weeks early.

So I went to the Chatsworth, CA office yesterday to submit my biometrics and it was a mess. I had a 3 o clock appointment and arrived there at 2:30 but they weren't able to process me till 3:50 and while we were waiting the lady at reception kept saying that because it was so close to closing time that some of us would have to be sent back home and told to come in another day (yeah right... I drove an hour to get there... AND I had an appointment!!!).

In any case, they were very obviously taking walk-ins. In fact, there was just one line regardless of if you were a walk-in or had an appointment. The guy who took my fingerprints told me that they don't put the walk-in option on official correspondence because "then everyone would turn up" but that they do accept walk-ins. Also, due to budget cuts, they halve the number of staff working after 12pm so if you want to avoid the long waits get there early.

I'm glad you got your biometrics done after all. I'm doing my biometrics on my appointment date as well. Thanks for the tip; plan on being there even earlier then our appointment time. Edited by BeMerry

Has anyone had their I-485 status change to Initial Review yet? Mine still says Acceptance from Dec 19.

Just wondering if there's a time frame I should be expecting? (If it's even going to change, I read that a lot don't.)
