Hi Everyone,

Is anyone waiting on the decision from TSC?

The USCIS received my case on December 10th - since then I am waiting for them to provide a decision. I submitted a Service Request and recently I received an email stating that I am going through some security checks and they wont make any decision until they get updates, they said they are not sure abou the time frame on security checks?

Did anyone ever heard or experienced this with their case? I would appreciate all your responses.

Thanks in adavnce!

They are running background checks on you and/or your fiance/e. This is pretty standard and seems to be taking a while for the TSC. Usually this is the last thing that keeps your petition from being approved so I would say it is safe to assume you will be getting an approval within the coming weeks.

This is probably where most of you December filers are at.. Hang tight!

Hi guys,

So I'm completely confused. From what I understood; when the consulate receives your approved petition and other files from NVC and the status is "ready" then the consulate sends the beneficiary (fiance) a packet with the medical sheet and list of things to bring, etc and sometimes an appointment letter. Today I checked the my mail and I received a paper from NVC saying to go online to ceac.state.gov and have my fiance fill out a DS-160. I found this strange, because I was told a DS-160 would not be required. Ok, so we fill out the DS-160 and say it's for a K-1 and all that; then it says you schedule your own interview (just like you would a tourist visa.) We can't schedule it until my fiance pays the fee at the bank (which he'll do tomorrow morning) but my question is what about this "packet 3" and medical?? he had his vaccinations and has proof of it but I was under the impression he had to do a full medical with a consulate approved doctor. Does this all seem strange to anyone??

I believe all K-1 petitions require the DS-160 form now.

This is how I understand my country (Vietnam) works, but I am not sure about yours. When we get our case number from NVC, we can go ahead and fill out the DS-160 online, then print out the last confirmation page. Then we go to the traveldocs.us site to fill out the form to pay for the visa fee. Once the visa fee is paid, wait 24 hrs, then go back to the site to schedule the interview appt. In the meantime, the consulate is going to send my beneficiary a Packet 3 with docs to send back to them. Once we have scheduled the interview, we can print the interview appt confirmation page and schedule the medical exam + vaccinations with a consulate approved doctor.

Thanks! The deeper I dig into this though, the more confusing it gets. This is what I saw on the traveldocs website "K visa applicants may self-schedule an appointment once they have been notified by the U.S. Consulate that their case has been received in Casablanca and they have received their instruction packet from the Consulate. Any appointments that are scheduled without this notification will be cancelled."

So according to this, he can't schedule without receiving this instruction packet from the consulate. What is even more confusing is that on the consulate website it says "Please note that once a K visa petition is approved by USCIS, the file will be sent to the U.S. Consulate in Casablanca and we will contact the beneficiary of the petition directly to schedule an interview date."

Why all this conflicting information? Do we schedule or do they? Also, was he supposed to fill out the DS-160 before receiving the packet? The case has been there since last Tuesday and he hasn't yet received anything. I'm not so concerned about this as of yet only because it's Ramadan and people are working way less hours.

@Noura_914: I think it's better that he follow the consulate instructions (i.e.: wait until he receives the Packet 3 before filling out DS-160 and pay visa fee).

Three from December and one from May 2014.

I hope I am reading it right. One approval for a May 2014 petition from TSC? That fast?

There is something wrong with that May 2014 timeline. It is listed twice for TSC and CSC. It's also at the top of both lists, and there is an issue with the formatting of the NOA2 date.

23 DEC 2013: Sent I129F

30 DEC 2013: Received Date TSC

02 JAN 2014: Received text/email: NOA1

06 JAN 2014: Alien Registration Number Changed

24 JUN 2014: E-request submitted

30 JUN 2014: Received text/email: NOA2 (180 days)

05 JUL 2014: E-request response - "I129F approved" - I knew that already!?!?

05 JUL 2014: Received hardcopy: NOA2

08 JUL 2014: Received text/email: Case shipped to NVC

10 JUL 2014: Affidavit of Support (with supporting evidence) mailed to fianceé

17 JUL 2014: NVC receives case file and assigns new case file # (called to find out)

18 JUL 2014: Fianceé schedules medical for July 24

23 JUL 2014: Affidavit of Support received by fianceé

24 JUL 2014: Fianceé has medical exam

25 JUL 2014: NVC sends case file to London embassy (CEAC status: 'In Transit')

25 JUL 2014: London embassy receives case file (CEAC status: 'Ready')...that was fast

26 JUL 2014: Submitted DS-160 and Notification of Applicant Readiness

30 JUL 2014: Received packet 3 from the embassy. Submitted forms earlier.

08 AUG 2014: Received packet 4 - Interview scheduled

He incorrectly filled out his timeline indicating a transfer from TSC. A very common mistake. That was a CSC filer.

Edit: Actually both May NOA1's were filled out incorrectly. They were not transferred from TSC...they are both CSC filers. <sigh>
