It was my understanding that I need to call them and get to a tier 2 rep to do the service request. I dont trust that online stuff. There are people who have recieved rfe's without knowing until it hit their mailbox. I wouldn't doubt that it also thinks none of our petitions are beyond the standard waiting period!

Maybe its 5 months of workdays??? Lol

Azim, go to this page: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do

But be prepared to be infuriated! When you click on that the next page will say this:

Do you have a case pending with USCIS that is outside the normal processing time? USCIS usually processes cases in the order we receive them. You can get an idea of how long it will take to process your case from the processing time table available on our website. For most applications, you can send us an inquiry if your case has been pending longer than the processing time posted on our website.

So, as I mentioned above, when I submitted this form it told me I was within the posted processing time! (NOT)!

I just called them and the guy gave me the big run around about how these are just average processing times. So I read to him directly from the website - that it says if you're outside the posted time on the website then you can submit a service request. He said, "Oh, well it should say, 'you might be able to submit a service request.'

Then I asked him what date are they up to in processing now and he said November 16th. Very funny! Someone posted that same date here about a month ago. A month ago they were told they were up to November 16th!

I just can't wait until the government controls all the hospitals and doctors too! That's gonna be great. Hard to believe so many people want our healthcare to be a part of this same system.

Maybe its 5 months of workdays??? Lol

Haha! Do you know that's exactly what I was thinking! They must have meant to say 5 Working Months!

Bit odd that there haven't been any approvals on here from TSC since 9th May - that's 10 days ago now (I'm not counting those that say they were 'transferred' to California...) I know we've only got a very small snapshot on VJ but it still looks odd - fingers crossed for a big avalanche of approvals over the next few days!

I have heard tell of 30 days after the 5 months. Why can't they just say 6 months? Our wonderful government at it's finest :)

No, you heard wrong. People don't read carefully and they start spreading rumors! Here's what it says on the USCIS website - and please note what I have highlighted in red:

Do you have a case pending with USCIS that is outside the normal processing time? USCIS usually processes cases in the order we receive them. You can get an idea of how long it will take to process your case from the processing time table available on our website. For most applications, you can send us an inquiry if your case has been pending longer than the processing time posted on our website.

If your application type is not listed in the processing time table on our website, our goal is to make a decision on your application within 6 months of filing. Please wait six months before submitting an inquiry.

So, can anybody read and understand complex material such as this!? Material where all the information you need to know is not contained in a single sentence!? It says to wait six months IF your application type isn't listend in the processing time table. But fiance visas are listed in the time table. And right now it says the expected time is 5 months. Which means, you can contact them after 5 months. You don't have to wait 6 months!

That's what their site says. Of course if you do contact them after 5 months they'll tell you to go take a hike anyway. But you are allowed after 5 months to contact them.

So I'm a November filer, and was past the 5 months and did the same as you. I found out, it won't allow you to do that, as it actually goes by their "internal processing times" so I called and they wouldn't let me either saying they processing dates from October at my time. I got frustrated just like you, so I understand. They also weren't nice whatsoever, so I went to my congressman and the woman in charge of immigration was more than welcome to inquire about my case. She did so the same day I sent my papers, and 3 business days later I got an approval. She had never even received a reply to the inquiry until after I got approved so I do believe their inquiry helped. If they won't let you put in a request over the phone, just go ahead and contact your congressman or senator. I got my NOA2, 5 months and 16 days after I filed.
