Lots of people on here have put them in at 5 months.

Anyway, I'm not convinced they actually do anything with them.

I suppose it's all who you talk to. Everyone who I have seen, as well as the website they say you have to wait 30 days. But hey doesn't hurt to try I know I would multiple times lol I hope that you hear something soon!

Here is one of the places they state that

Here is one of the places they state that

https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt

That says that you have to wait 6 months IF your application is not listed with a processing time. The I129F is listed as 5 months...

We'll try anyway. Like I said (on a different thread) filing service requests is all fine and dandy but if the delay is simply due to the huge backlog at TSC (which I strongly suspect it is) then this make them work any faster...

I tried through the website it still says under processing times. Its five months for me. So I guess through june I go.

Hi everybody ,it's 21 days after my approval of NOA2,and shipped to NVC.no information .

Hi Salwa- Have you called the NVC to get your case number? With that # you can check the case status on the CEAC website.

They actually do. I reached out to both Texas State Senators but when I called USCIS after my approval (they initially sent out the wrong notification that said my appeal had been dismissed) they told me that my service request had been received and closed due to my approval.

They do not just ignore you or hide your file. They are just very swamped down for some reason. Like I have read in other threads, all the service centers seem to have cycles.

I would say to try not to worry until 5 months is up, call them see what you can do and also write to your senators. You will get an approval soon, I promise, and then you will realize all the worry and concern was over nothing!

Just hang in there!

Oh sure, I know it'll come at some point. What I'm wondering though is kind of what you've highlighted - your service request was closed because of your approval - I bet that happens a lot. It's taking so long to approve people so a lot of service requests are being filed. By the time they get to look at your service request, they close it down because your petition was approved without any intervention from anyone, it just took that long to get through the system!

Anyway, my fiance lands in 5 days, 19 hours and 49 minutes so at least we've got that to look forward to!

Wow. Congrats. I'm constantly dreaming of the day I get to receive her at the airport for the last time. It will be the most amazing feeling ever ... the start of a new life.

I'm at (5) months now waiting on TSC, like so many others. I sent a letter to my local congressman a couple weeks ago, but have heard nothing back. Oddly enough, he is in the news himself under accusation of having abused his foreign immigrant spouse, primarily what they claim this petitioner background check is supposed to help prevent. I'm trying one of my state senators this weekend.

The farmers really hate it when the livestock asks to move to the other side of the fence. They really have no incentive to be responsive to those sorts of things. I've often wondered if this "background check" is the same one that any cop will run on you in 10 seconds as he/she sits behind you at a traffic light.

Well I guess what I was saying is that, they at least acknowledge service requests, they don't just get "created" and then nothing ever happens. They have to make an action on your service request by a 30 day time period. If my case had not been approved by then, I would have at least received some sort of update or they would have opened it and approved it then.

I would venture to say that by the end of the month you have an approval. Luckily that is only 2 more weeks! TSC sucks but they are grinding them out slowly and at least its not at a complete stand still.

Also to the people who are writing their congressmen. I would suggest writing to your senators as a senator has more responsibility/power. The senators generally have a direct immigration request on their websites or forms that you can fax to them. From my experience a Senator has more effect, but again just a suggestion))

My fiancé doesnt like to call them,he wants to wait until the NVC will send the mail.

Salwa, wallah I'm not trying to be rude or offend but I'm going to say this as lightly as I can. It is very odd that you are coming here for these questions that are easily answered simply by calling NVC. You have a right and should have documents with your case number and whatever else. When you call USCIS or NVC the people that answer the phones are customer service representatives...that's what they're there for. You ask a lot of questions looking for specific answers from this community that it just cannot provide. You ask for specific dates and timeframes - such answers don't exist and then when people tell you to call you say that you can't because your fiance doesn't want to.

Why doesn't your fiance want you calling NVC? You said you were approved and waiting for a case number and it's been weeks, everyone else calls and gets the information very easily. You were already approved, just call and get it. If you're concerned that it would appear bad if you call them and inquire about your case, it's almost an oxymoron. I inferred that you're concerned that they would think it was fraudulent if you called and asked (at least this is what i understand from what you have said in the last couple of months) but it would only show your dedication to each other on this journey to being together.

Just like someone had posted her and the fiance were denied but their friends who fight with each other like cats and dogs were approved. Thats because conflict and resolution within a relationship is evidence of a genuine love for each other. (This is coming from an Immigration attorney I spoke to.) If you need anything or you need documents that you should have received and didn't, you need to call NVC. If you wait for them to fix this error alone, you'll be waiting a long time.

So, I just filled out a service request as my petition was accepted on December 16th and more than 5 months has gone by.

Here's what popped up on the screen after I submitted the request:

"Your application or petition is currently within the posted processing times. An inquiry may not be created at this time. Further information about recent processing times can be viewed on the uscis.gov webpage.

If you have other questions regarding your application or petition, contact USCIS Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY)."

Only the government could think 5 months and 3 days is less than 5 months!
