Yup! I would think it shouldn't take to long to change to "in-transit" : )

I checked my case status on the CEAC site and it says ready. Does that mean they've already received the petition? It was just sent to the embassy yesterday.

Probably so, yes! Ours made it to Qatar in about 36 hours...I was incredulous that it could be so fast, so I called to confirm. It was indeed there, and we were able to move forward with Packet 3 from there...

I would call the USEM to make sure, but looks like you're on to the next stage : ) Congrats!

Question if I call UCIS do I talk to person that answers phone or ask for 2T officer, about my petition it's been over 4 months. What is the difference been the two.

You will initially be directed to a tier 1 person. You can ask for a tier 2 however they will tell you since your petition is within normal processing times of 5 months there is nothing that can be done. However you can definitely try.

Oh the difference. A tier one person has no detailed information about your case. They read a standard prompt from a screen while a tier 2 officer has access to more detailed information regarding your case. Hope this helps.

Thanks! I emailed the embassy to confirm today, so hopefully I'll from them soon. Didn't bother calling as it's difficult to get an answer at the Lagos embassy.

I'm really frustrated like the rest of the Dec filers still waiting on NOA2. I wrote to my senator and emailed them and called them several times. They apparently only have one person who does the USCIS inquiries and she's on vacation...I sent this letter like a month ago and still nothing from the Senators office. I'm getting really really anxious and it's difficult not knowing if I should but tickets to go out there in July or not. I said this to USCIS and they said "if he gets approved in the mean time, he can just return home with you" but why waste the money to go out there if he can come here? Morocco is far, and in July during Ramadan and to be there during EID is like ridiculously expensive and I'm traveling with my son ... so it's two of us. Also, if he did get approved before July, I'd want to get married in July so we can have a summer wedding. This is ridiculous. I'm thinking of calling and just asking for a 2T officer to see what is going on... 5 months is right around the corner. Any thoughts? Quite honestly, I work in local government and my boss is running for Governor, I wanted to keep my personal life out of my political life but quite frankly, I am thinking of just asking him for help!

Can you also contact your Congressperson? This is so unfair compared to Cali almost being done with March filers?

You're still inside that five-month window as measured from the date that appears on your NOA-1. If you're NOA-1 is dated December 19, 2013, then you will fall outside the five-month window on May 19, 2014. There isn't much anyone can do until that time passes. If you haven't received your NOA-2 by May 19, then you should contact your favorite Senator or Congressman for assistance.

While I appreciate the advice, I should have elaborated a bit more. My mistake. I understand I'm still within five months which is why I said "5 months is right around the corner." However, when I last spoke to an officer, they indicated that my file was, for all intents and purposes, just sitting in a box somewhere in a long queue. This conversation was about 2 weeks ago, and they told me they were only doing October filers (clearly not true) and to expect a much longer wait. I understand completely that no recourse can be taken until after the 5 month mark, however, my issue was more that they were refusing to provide me even the tiniest bit of information and were interrogating me as to how I knew they changed my fiances Alien Reg. Number...apparently seeing it on my case status wasn't a sufficient answer for them? Anyway, they refused to tell me absolutely anything because they were treating me more like a suspect than a petitioner or even as an innocent human being just seeking information. This conversation in and of itself was completely mind boggling to me. I reached out to my favorite Senator whom I have an indirect relationship with and it was only to see if they could obtain any information at all about the case. No RFE, nothing has happened since January 6 which the oh so kind people at uSCIS said to me "means absolutely nothing and that is not an indication of receiving an actual number, but that you're logged into the system when they send your NOA1 and its an auto generated message." This is not verbatim what they said, but it was the gist of it. I reached out to my Senator because I had nothing to lose, what I didn't expect was for there to be 1 person in his entire administration who deals with this, and she's gone for apparently 2 weeks with no one doing her work for her...(strange, no?) I suppose my comment was more of an opportunity to vent since this is an ordeal I'm more or less going through alone. I don't talk about it because no one understands the immigration system like I do in my circle of friends/family and they can't wrap their brains around how completely inconsistent Immigration/DHS/ICE/USCIS are in every aspect of the process ranging from processing applications, visas, etc all the way to the immigration "laws" themselves.
