Usually for K-1s, that just means that they're prepping the package to be shipped to the appropriate Embassy. Usually only a few days, maybe up to a couple of weeks. Ours was in and out within about 4 days...

Do you know when exactly they received your file? Did they give you a case number when you spoke with them?

Good luck, but really don't think it should be to long!!

Called NVC today and was told our case has been received and is currently in AP? What does that mean!? Anyone have any experience with this?

Im sooooo sooooo sorry for ur situation!!!! Woooow!!!! Maybe ask a laywer???? :( hire a laywer to fix everything right? Cause i think is a serius thing... U cant do even a comma as a mistake :( wish u will soon be with ur fiance.... And this nightmare will be over !!! From the bottom of my heart!!!

thank you so much, and we had a lawyer in india, he was trying to get us a waiver of the waiting time but couldn't. that was why we couldn't get married there, i had to get back to the usa for work, they wouldn't let me extend my vacation time... but i told uscis and nvc, gave them the papers and proof of everything plus explained it all in my letter in the i-129f packet, they understood it and approved us, but mumbai doesn't understand.... they think uscis and nvc were wrong and that we are married in india, but we aren't, and mumbai refuses to believe the truth, just denied us, when indian law proves we are not married.... how can a consulate in india not know indian law?! *sigh* i wrote it all out to nvc and hopefully they can straighten it out for us, otherwise i have to call my congressman or senator, they are the only ones able to make mumbai do as it is supposed to do, and give us our visa.... we did everything right, were honest and open, and still they jacked us up/denied our visa.... i also sent a copy of the indian law to nvc to prove that we didn't get to get married in india.... praying it will get straightened out, we are caught in a revolving door now with the consulate.... if we file the cr-1 like they said, we will have to wait all over again, pay the fees all over again and still be denied all over again because we aren't married yet, and then file the k-1 again, etc. etc. etc., like some version of hell.....they put him thru such nightmares when he was there, made so many mistakes.... praying nvc can help us....:cry::cry::cry::(:(:(:dead::shocked::shocked::shocked::cry::clock::cry::clock::cry:

Just checked the CEAC site, and our case is in transit!!! Guess the AP just meant the file was being prepared to be shipped. ???

I'd just wait it out. I'm not sure of your financial situation but quitting your job doesn't seem like a good idea. If you've waited this long what's another month?

Ah your probably right im just struggling with being away from her :(. I'm fine financially suffice to say that i have saved enough to be comfortable for a couple of months but i guess i should just hold on and save as much as possible rather that just going over and sitting about.
