Highlight of my interview

Consul: What do you plan to do when you get to the US?

Me: Get a marriage license and get married.

Consul: What I mean is from the airport

Me: Go to their house and eat chili that his dad is making for me

(Consul's eyes lights up and he smiles)

Me: Is the chili in the US kinda the same with the chili con carne that Wendy's sells here in the Philippines? I haven't had just the chili before (lol.. didn't know that chili con carne is just called chili in the US.. silly me)

Consul: Yes, basically it's the same. There are just variations.

(Talks to people behind him and the lady consul beside him then laughs)

Consul: I don't mean to brag, but I got an award here in the embassy for making really good chili

Other questions asked:

How did you meet? (Facebook)

How/Why did you add each other on Facebook? (I was friends with his sister)

How did you become friends with his sister? (His sister is my cousin's wife)

How did you start our relationship? (Messaged him first because I asked him to take pictures of his sister's 3rd son... then we chatted regularly)

(Then the chili conversation)

Consul: You know what my parents advised me when I got married, live far away from family after marriage (thousand miles away)

Me: We plan to move to Texas after a few years.

Consul: Why Texas?

Me: Because the cost of living is much cheaper than New York.

Consul: That is a very good answer.

It was a really good interview. They didn't ask me for the other documents/pictures... and I had a lot of them in my bag (I drained 1 black and 1 colored cartridge when I printed more facebook screenshots, emails, viber, skype stuff). All I submitted were the following: DS160, Visa Receipt (I paid online using my ATM so I just printed the confirmation page), NSO Birth Certificate, NSO Certificate of No Marriage, NBI Clearance, 1040, W2 & passport.

wow! congrats. we keep calling NVC regarding our case number, but still they didn't received it.cray5ol.gifcray5ol.gif its been 25 days since NOA2..

they say it can take up to 8 weeks. CSC takes longer to forward cases to NVC but im sure youll get it pretty soon..

you should keep calling them. As for my case, i called them in a same day. there were 2 women as each time with different answers. And yeah we had our case number in 10 days. Good luck!!!

What is hard copy? I'm waiting on NOA2 too. Since December 2013.

It's carzy how you see people that filed after us an already in NOA2.

Hard copy is a printed page! When we say we received the noa1 hardcopy for example we mean we received by mail the printed page with noa1.

Pfff most of December fillers got their noa2 in January!

Took us also 3 – 4 weeks to get the case number by phone. Got my first package from the embassy here in Switzerland just a few days later.

Stay positive. If it takes longer, maybe they did a background check and you have less problems after it got approved. Fingers crossed for all of you!

I have my medical today and I'm aware that I'm not immune to measles, since I got the result of the antibody test this morning. I'm a little nervous. huh.png
